This is our favorite restaurant! Yes, it's occasionaly busy. But it's only because the food is so worth it! We've never had a problem with the service. If it's very busy, we don't anticipate receiving our meal within 10 minutes. However our drinks and salads are usually very prompt. In fact, the owner often comes to our table to be sure every thing is ok towards the end of our meal. If you are looking for a restaurant that has a menu of good southern cooking, then this is the place for you. The prices are extremely affordable compared to many "Coney Island" type places we've gone in Genesee County. A full steak dinner for two, with drinks and dessert will cost approx. $40. If you're used to city cooking, this will likely not be your favorite restaurant. However, if you love southern cooking, then you'll feel right at home.

I have always enjoyed meals here. The biscuits and gravy are beyond delicious and inexpensive. Soups, salads, and dinners, such as the meatloaf, are very hearty and tasty. There's also a senior citizen menu that has reduced prices for 50somethings on up; the portions are perfect. Service has always been friendly and prompt. LOVE the non-smoking now!

The waitstaff used to be very upbeat and efficient and that somehow made a huge difference in the food quality. Kinda like comparing hot food to old cold food and being served by respectful courteous waitstaff to now being served by low class trashy women that dont care. Why go into the service field if not for the tips? I shall never return!

I go to the Farm House mainly for their multi-grain pancakes. Unfortunately, this dish is the only menu item, in which they excel. We have been there for lunch and dinner and found the food lacking. As for the service, I'd give it two stars. Our orders have been messed up at lunch and dinner.

I do not give restaurants a third chance. The only exception that I will make in this restaurants case, is that I will return for the one dish I mentioned above after the smoking ban is in effect.

I would have given them 5 stars, but they are a little on the expensive side for a family restaurant. I have to say the food was great!!! I got the mile high meatloaf and green beans and it was very good. My husband got some platter with crepes that was equally yummy. Service was pretty good and I will definitely go again.

We thought the restaurant would be a great place to go. We went and sat for 20 minutes and all we got was our drinks. Many servers walked by our table, but no one stopped to take our order. We did everything we could to show that we were ready to order. All we got was dirty looks as we got up and walked out.

I love going to this restaurant when I visit my hometown. If you love the taste of home cooking, you will enjoy their food. I have not found anything on the menu that I have not liked and the pot roast is the best!

It is a nice atmosphere; the service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable also.

I would highly recommend this to anyone!

We had a party of 9 people. 5 of us got all you can eat perch dinners. The servings were so large, none of had to order extra. It was delicious. The homemade bread served warm was great. We would recommend the Farm House to others. Thanks.

We love this place. The wait staff is so friendly. My husband loves the cabbage soup. We drive at least 30 minutes. Tomorrows my B-Day, and I've picked the Farm House for my B-Day dinner. We've not had a bad meal here. The Pot Roast is probably my favorite, wait...maybe the Fried Chicken!

We visited this restaurant not long ago for breakfast and maybe it is just us because the place is always packed from opening to closing. My husband was not at all impressed with the pancakes although the portion was generous. I was even less impressed with my potatoes and there was no variety in spread for my toast not to mention my bacon was over done and so were my eggs. I also found the coffee to be a bit bitter and getting a second cup was not very successful. We did not think the prices were all that cheap and there was nothing on the menu that would lure us back for lunch or dinner. It does have a friendly atmosphere but the service and the food just don't quite meet the competition.

PROS: plenty of parking
CONS: always a wait for a table

The food here is great! I would highly recommend their pot roast. Almost anything my family and I have ordered has been wonderful.

We had some trouble with the service though. Very long wait for our food. And waiter didn't seem to know much about the menu.

You can get anything from a fruit bowl to more food than a lumberjack could eat. Everything says home made to me. I love home cooked meals, so it stands to reason that I love this restraunt. The atmosphere is very quaint, and charming. You realy want to try this place soon.
ps..try the breakfast special w/ 2 eggs, tomatoes, toast, and a fruit bowl.......YUMMY

PROS: good food, great wait staff, wide variety
CONS: a little on the expensive side

The Farm House Restaurant is located on M-24 across from KFC in Lapeer. It is a great place to get basic homecooked food. They have great soups and sweet potato casserole.
