Just an update for those interested -- Seoul Korner has changed to "Maru". I've been a loyal SK customer for about 2 years. I have to say though, I really dig Maru.

I haven't been to Seoul Korner in 2 weeks. I was really craving some of their Bibimbap and decided to drop by yesterday. I was completely shocked to see that the place had a total makeover. The restrooms are actually INSIDE the building now! To confuse me even more, I was handed a menu with the word "Maru" on the front page. I asked the waitress what happened and I was told that Seoul Korner is under new management with a new chef, and that it was their grand opening. The sign outside still reads Seoul Korner though.

I came to have some bibimbap, but there were about five or so different kinds including "Seaweed" bibimbap and "raw fish" bibimbap. I decided to order the plain old original bibimbap to compare Maru's to Seoul Korner's. I must say -- I was not disappointed. The bibimbap tasted great! Even better than SK's if I dare say myself. The KochuJang sauce was nicer as well. Along with the bibimbap came a small bowl of soup. The side dishes were tasty as well (the macaroni salad was my favorite).

My wife ordered the Tonkatsu (pork cutlet). I took a few slices and it was really good. The sauce is nothing like I've ever had before. Yum.

My wife and I had a very pleasant dinner at Seo-- I mean, Maru.

Neat fact - The chef/owner used to work at Arirang. I've actually never been there, but I've read good reviews about that place. Apparently he's worked in NY and ATL. Cheers, chef! :)

I have been going here for years and it is always good. The owner is very nice and tries very hard to make you happy. I love the Bi Bim Bop. The only time I didn't like it was when I mistakenly got the sizzling rice dish and didn't intend to. It was too crispy for my taste. Everything else I have had including the side dishes have always been great.

The place is very relaxed and casual. Spacious and good seating. And the food was AMAZING. I lived in Korea for a few years so I was looking for a good, affordable, AUTHENTIC Korean food and I lucked out with this place. The prices are pretty good (we're not talking McDonald's here, people but very affordable) but it's the food that really keeps me coming back. If you want some good Korean food, you really shouldn't waste your time or your money elsewhere (I've tried some of the more expensive places- let's just say expensive doesn't equal great taste).

Pros: EXCELLENT FOOD!! Friendly service, spacious seating, good price

Cons: can't think of any

It's a small private own diner at the corner of williams. I used to go there a lot during lunch time. I think they are a bit more expensive compare with other "student" places. I personally think that they serve wonderful Korean dishes, and it seems pretty authentic to me. (though, i wouldn't have known as I'm not from Korea myself) The dish are very decent in size(pretty big to me) and they also have good Korean style side dishes. The people there are friendly and the food are always nice.

You almost feel guilty paying what you pay for the quality and amount of food you get at this restaurant. You'll have to pay a significant premium (probably about 50-100% more) at other fancy Korean restaurants for same quality food. I guess you do pay a premium for the fancy chairs and tables at the other restaurant. The service is fast, warm and friendly. If you are going on a romantic dinner, definitely not recommended. But for a casual good meal with friends, family, or even by yourself, this is a great spot you can't miss out on. Oh, and they even have a parking lot, granted it's small, you know how hard it is to find free parking on UM campus...
