My wife visited Parlins shortly after their "Going out of Business" sale started, we had looked a corner/bench dining room set earlier in the year, so she purchased it. Why she was there for that, she also looked at a Sectional Sofa for our basement, she called me while I was in Kansas, and asked what I thought, I told her that it probably wouldn't fit, the Salesman "Mark" told her that if it did not fit, that we would be charged with the delivery fee. Well it didn't fit, I had to return to the store to get a a barstool that was not level, and I spoke with Mr. Parlin at that time and explained to him about the billing of the sofa we did not accept, he told me that they would take care of it, I get my next statement for December and the $1,300 for the sofa was still on the bill, My wife and I went up to Parlin's to have the issue cleared up, we talked with "Jennifer" below, she explained that "All Sales were Final" and that we had an instore credit of $1,300.00 we explained that ou slaesman "Mark" had told us that we could simply pay the delivery fee if the sofa didn't fit. Well the paperwork does not support Mark's promise, our mistake for not reading the contract, but when you put you're confidence in people, you will usually be disappointed.

After agruing with Jennifer we had to leave as it was beginning to upset my wife, the point that disgusts me most about this, is NOT the $1,300, its that they told me earlier that they would take care of removing the $1,300 from the credit card, when in fact they "Investigated and determined that we would have a "$1,300" in store credit and neglected to inform me of that, so when they would conviently go "Out of Business" they would re-sell the sofa and I'd have a $1,300 dollar tab for nothing in return. Jennofer mentioned that she spoke with the Delivery person about letting me know that I needed to choose something else in place of the sofa, I was NOT told that, and I stood there next to the guy when he called the warehouse, she may have had that conversation with the Delivery guy, but I can tell you that it was NOT why I was around, because I would have had a fit then.

In summary, I'll have to go pick out something worth $1,300 becasue we were lied to, and I'm disappointed that they were content with not letting me know that the money would not be returned, they would've had my money if I had not gone up and inquired about the billing. Very bad business, form a Small Business Man Myself!!! I'd be out of business I swindled people like this.

Pros: Was good for many years...

Cons: Sneaky Salesman - No Inegrity

It's to bad that most most people think to write a review when they are dissatisfied. I have been a customer of Parlins for a few years now and have alway been very happy with the quality of furniture and service that I have received! They are a great company and I love putting my money into a small business rather than a large chain!

I'm the one of the owner's of Parlin's Furniture and take the reputation of my family business very seriously. I was informed today of these reviews & would like to respond. I'm not aware of the situation posted by Janet R. However, I would like to note that we do not offer any sofas or chairs that only have a 1 yr frame warranty. I believe this consumer was referring to the 1 yr labor warranty provided by the factories. Although, a part might have a lifetime warranty, the labor to replace that part is only guaranteed for 1 yr. We would like to try to assist Ms. R if she would be willing to contact us further. As she stated, we strive very hard hard to provided excellent customer service. As for Tina B., 2 years of energy has been put into trying to satisfy this consumer to no avail. Parlin's Furniture won the court case because BOTH parties told the truth. It was appealed & ultimately dismissed. Although, it is hard for me to accept, there really are some people that can not be satisfied no matter what efforts are made. This unfortunately, was one of them.

I bought a hose full of furnitur from Parlins on 3-25-2006 and now I'm in court because they dont stand behind there warranty and the lie even in the court room!!! I'm going back to cour again on 7-24-08 at 1:00. SO if you have had any problems like this with them feel free to show up at cour room 317 Judge Holes.

We have bought all of our furniture at Parlins Furniture. In the past, we have been pleased with our purchases. A year ago, we bought an entire household full of furniture for our new home. I was not happy with our purchase. The couch and matching chair have just collapsed, and when I called they told me that they had only a one year warranty!! They weren't priced for only a one year warranty. We were very disappointed with this last purchase.
