Mario's Office

Whether off to the theatre, Tiger's game, or the casino, Mario's is still one of our best restaurants in Detroit. It's not cheap, but it is delicious. I love the appetizer tray with veggies, cheese, salami, and the bread. Waiters are wonderful, too.

Mario's on 2nd Street is deliciously to die for! Presentation of entire restaurant and service is one of the best in Michigan!
Went on Sunday 12-02-06, for birthday dinner to Mario's of TROY and was unpleasantly surprised. Mario's in Detroit is owned by the manager of Troy's (father), and is one of our favorite places to eat, while getting full pampering and eating at one of the best restaurants in Michigan!

We decided to try the one in Troy(closer to home than Detroit) and know now, it is worth the drive to Detroit. I love salt, but when we got the bread before dinner, it was even too salty for me. The minestrone soup was just as salty, and we couldn't even eat bread to mask the soup. We told the wait person, who then told the manager, who came to the table, to attend to our complaint. He said he would check the bread and soup. He did in fact, while bringing a piece of bread to the table and eating it in the dining area. He agreed that it was salty, but never apologized about the food. I was disappointed that there was a big screen tv turned on in the dining area, because "I did not to intend to take my mom to a dinner/sports bar for her birthday." And I also did not like the manager walking in the dining area with his cell phone blaring out. I would never recommend or try this Troy location again, and as I said before Mario's in Detroit is well worth the drive.
