I've been going to Siam Kitchen for years and love their spicy Tofu and Broccoli. I ask for a number of "stars" and the resulting array of whole peppers in the mix allows me to set my heat level.

As with many Asian restaurants, the pace is quite slow, but I find this a plus. We still manage a great lunch in <1hr and dinner in 1.5hrs.

This food is bland, at best. If you want authentic Thai food, don't go here. The Pad Thai I ordered had very little taste, other than oil. The noodles were not chewy or crunchy, but soggy. My companion ordered the lunch special, shrimp and spring roll in chili sauce... the spring roll had a fermented smell which the waiter told us was the smell of the bamboo. In all the time I spent in Thailand I smelled a number of strange things, but none like this. I lived in Asia for a year and encountered my fair share of bamboo, and none of it smelled like alcohol. Nonetheless, I could be wrong. Even so, the blandness and poor quality of the food is enough to keep me away from Old Siam.

WARNING DO NOT GO HERE!!

We went for our daughters birthday & waited over 30 minutes for a waitress to take our drink order after we sat down at the table.

My first 2 selections the waitress came back & said they "no longer offered" My 3rd selecton was a salad.

the wait was so long for our entrees, that my daughter opened up her birthday presents & we had to ask several times for our meal. 45 minutes later my salad arrived - the other 6 entries were not done yet & I was given my salad entree 15+ minutes before my guests

the salad was clearly wrong. the salad had a foul, rotten stench that I have never smelled before on a plate. I tried to eat the salad with no success. the salad was overwhelming wrong & spolied- I was fearing sickness. I tried to push the salad to the side but others at my table complained of the thick stench coming from the salad.

I flagged the waitress down to explain that something was "wrong:" with the salad. Instead of a apology - the mgr arrived & was verbally combative, rude & uncaring. She wanted to publicly argue the salad was OK & that I was at fault for ordering the salad. My fault would be if I ever went to this place again- I highly suggest all stay away.

This was my daughters birthday & I did not want to make a scene so I just sent the spoiled sald back..

Our bill was $50.00++ & I did not have a dinner with my family

We were @ Old Siam for 1.50 hrs & there were many empty tables & I understand why.

the service, rude bahavior & quality of meals were horriable. I am going to call the health dept on monday

>>WE HAVE BEEN TO THE THAI PLACE IN SALINE,MI & WOULD SUGGEST THEM HIGHLY
