We just recently joined the Stepping Stones family and we are so happy that we did! We love that the Montessori method builds on itself and teaches students the connections between subjects. For example, the infants and toddlers play with blocks, building and and knocking down. In Children's House, students learn that the blocks are cubes and the cubes have mass and take up space. In elementary, the cubes can be broken down into triangles where students learn about angles and begin working with equations, which leads to an introduction into algebra. Students might then study Pythagoras and then ancient Greece and even philosophy. We love that Montessori is not based on textbook learning but on real hands on examples. The teachers at Stepping Stones are wonderful. They see each child as an individual and push each child to reach their potential.

I was a student teacher about a year ago, and because of the subject, I was traveling. I spent two, half days at SSM and loved every minute of it. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and considerate, and the children were well behaved, taught well, and seemed to enjoy their entire day.
Before working with the staff at SSM I did not know what a Montessori school was. I quickly learned after some explanation, and research. I feel as though Stepping Stones excels to meet the needs of the student's education.
I would highly recommend this school for someone looking for a Montessori!

My husband and I went to observe the Children's House back in mid-fall 2005. What a neat experience! The children were all so focused on their tasks at hand. . . you could literally feel the room buzzing with excitement! Yes, it's expensive, but they will work with you and set up an individualized payment plan for you. They were also very willing to work with my wacky part-time work schedule (some days my daughter will need to stay all day and they are fine with that so long as they have the dates in advance). Neat place! Can't wait to start school in fall of 2006!
