Let us address the decor first. I know you cannot judge a restaurant by the building, but I do expect it to make some effort at keeping neat and clean. The bathrooms were disgusting, with cracked and moldy grout all around. The interior decor of the restaurant was circa 1970s A&W and lacked sufficient seating for people waiting.

On the topic of waiting, let us discuss the service. Lackluster would be generous. For fast food with a drive-thru, I do not expect to wait nearly twenty minutes for my food. I also don't expect to get a "what-ever" attitude from the staff when I complain about the food.

Oh yes, the food... subpar is about it in a word. The best thing there was the rolls and they were store bought. The chicken and broasted potatoes were decent, but nothing to write home about. The cole slaw was processed to the point of mush. The corn was canned corn drenched in butter and pepper (not bad, but nothing special). The piece of real horror was the pork chop. The pork chops were cooked to the point of being chewy, oily hockey pucks.

Maybe the pork chops would have been better had the applesauce that they came with been good. Oh wait, the printed menu says the pork chop meals come with applesauce, but that is a "corporate menu" but you don't do that... and you don't tell people the menu item is different than the menu you have... yeah, good job.

In summary, I will not be visiting this place again or any Chicken Shacks in the near future, you are better off visiting the KFC a half mile down the road.

Their Chicken is incredibly good but to expect to pay more here than most fast food restaurants. They've got the broasted potatoes too so that you can have a complete meal. Located southeast of
23 Mile Road and Sass Blvd.
