This campground is owned by the City of Ludington and has been around for a very long time. The current managers have done am excellent job of updating and maintaining this campground. It can accommodate a large motor home or the rustic tent camper and everything in-between. The bathrooms are nice and clean. We were a seasonal stay in 2010 and enjoyed it VERY much. Close to town, beach, or just stay and enjoy the campground atmosphere. There's a playground for the kids and a horseshoe pit for adults. Adjoins the Lincoln River for those who want to throw in a fishing line. Cartier Park Pathway is right behind the park for walking or biking. Nice, mature trees kept us out of the hot summer sun. Note: I have to disagree with the negative review earlier. The managers make sure rowdy campers are made to follow the rules or are told to leave. All one has to do is let them know, and they will not hesitate to remove rule breakers from the park.

If you're a college kid looking to party it up without rules, this is the place for you. There will be a lot of pesky families around, but no worries: when they ask you to be quiet you can just yell lewd profanity and ignore them. Swear in front of their kids too if you want. There is a 'no drinking' policy on holidays, but you can go ahead and ignore that too. Drink up and party all night! Park your car wherever you want, someone else's lot for example, and traipse through the middle of their campsite. Who cares if the other campers ask you to move? Just laugh and continue on your way. Throw your stuff all over your site, leave bags of trash when you leave and even take a dump on the floor in the bathroom, if that's your thing. Trust me, the office staff will do nothing to stop you. NO RULES! Whoo hoo!

This is a small campground close to Lake Michigan. If you can't get into Ludington this is a fair alternative. Close to the beach. Nice and clean bathrooms.
