We have ate at tietz back when they were a drive in restaurant and we will continue to frequent this restaurant whenever we're in the area. Love the fish and mushroom burgers. Prices may be a little high for the atmosphere! ??

I dont usually take time out of my day to stop and write a review for anything on th internet, let alone a review for a restaurant, but I had to after eating at Tietz Restaurant. I used to go to Tietz all the time with my family, before I moved and the Tietz family sold their business, but I have to say, the place has fallen off the cliff since then. I used to enjoy my meal and the experience their, but now, the food and drink is tremendously overpriced, and the service was HORRIBLE. All night all i heard was my waitress barking orders to everyone, instead of being concerned about serving me, the paying customer. To top it off, one of the owners was swearing at all the waitstaff, it was very disapointing. Every item on the menu was at least three dollars overpriced, and not one of their spaecials was under eighteen dollars, now Im no expert, but aren't specials supposed to be cheap meals. Then I ordered a drink on the rocks, they wanted to charge me two dollars... FOR THE ICE. And lastly when the food was served it was horrible, my steak was tough, and much smaller than what i had ordered, i ordered an 18 oz new york strip, it must've been as thin as Burger King hamburger patty. My wife's chicken was burn't, our potatoes were cold, and my sons burger was charred to a crisp. All in all, purely disapointing.

Tietz's was originally a truck stop that was always packed but as progress changed the truck routes and the community grew it became known as a great steak house. The rustic barn wood interior gives a warm family appeal and so does the menu. Whether it is a community organisation's dinner meeting or a morning breakfast get-together with neighbors the food is always good and the prices always reasonable. Even when the place is packed the service is excellent. Within walking distance of the local movie house if you are up for dinner and a movie.

PROS: the cosy enviornment makes you feel welcome
CONS: parking can be a problem on a very busy night or weekend
