Given the choice between looking for shoes at either Marshalls or at DSW next door, I'll first look at Marshalls. The selection for shoes, clothing, toiletries, etc., is huge and varied. And you need to check often, because overstocked and discontinued items floating in from other stores can appear at any time. The store is clean and well organized. I think when times are lean, places that offer brand names at discount prices are worth a look. Plus, sometimes looking to see what I might stumble onto is fun. I run so I burn my way through running shoes; the last ten New Balance pairs I've bought have been at Marshalls, and I've been very satisfied. Although you have to look through the clothing to find something that you like, it's worth it. They not only sell clothing, but shoes also.
