Absolutely LOVE this restaurant. I have eaten at all of the nicest restaurants in Traverse City, and they have some of the best food I have ever eaten. My two favorites are the Chicken Marsala which is to die for. If you have this, you will never be happy with anyone else's. Second dish is Swimming with Fishes. The only dish that beats this is the lobster mac and cheese at Gibsons on Mackinac Island. We have had GREAT service (except once. Waitress named Marcia. She either quit or was fired so no worries there) and have frequented this restaurant at least 20 times.

4 adults+2 children 6:45 seating
We were seated @ our table for 20 minutes without menus, asked for water twice, 40 minutes for our food to arrive - no special requests. When our food FINALLY arrived - Margarita pizza with 2 slices of tomato & Fusilli Sauce was sour-tasting.

Superb food, wonderful prices, very welcoming of children (even have a children's menu). Well worth the drive if you are out of the way a bit... Delicious and tastefully decorated! A+++ It is a beautiful restaurant inside and out. Half the windows overlook the golf course. There is a huge fireplace inside that they were fine with just going to sit in front of. My 2 year old loved the fireplace~it kept him happy to go sit there with me while waiting for our food, which didn't take long at all! The staff was excellent as was the food. Lots of parking and close to the casino if you want to go there after supper too.

PROS: Families welcome/great prices/wondeful food!
CONS:

If you like tapas cuisine, then you'll love Travino's. It is part of the Shelde's chain of restaraunts. They have a superb wine and martini selection and food. The service leaves something to be desired sometimes because they can get very busy. Their Sunday brunch is magnificent (if you can get a seat). It's a little out of the way from everything else in Traverse City, but well worth the drive.

PROS: Great food, Great local wines
CONS: Can get very busy
