I purchased a washer/dryer, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave at Sargent and spent over $8000. They did not have the lowest prices on these items but I chose them because the salesperson sold me on the notion that it was a family owned business with great service. This may be true in some cases, but in my case I found them to be some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It??s worth mentioning that I dealt directly with the owner and found him to be condescending and rude throughout the whole problem resolution process. The delivery people broke my screen door and I was told they would be there the next day to fix it and they never came. I had problems with two of my appliances that required 4 visits from their service provider within 10 days of delivery and I had trouble receiving return phone calls from their manager. Problems come up with purchases but it??s all in how the company handles it that determines good customer service. A simple apology goes a long way but they seem to have trouble with that. So if you want to pay higher prices, take 4 days off from work to have your brand new appliances serviced, and be treated poorly by the owner, then you should buy from Sargent.

Bought over $2600 in appliances from Sargent last month and I have never received such horrible customer service. They didn't call the morning of delivery with a delivery time. When I called to find out a deliver time, they could give me a time. When they did call they said they would be there in half an hour and they showed up an hour and a half later. The appliances were delivered in a pick-up truck which to my best guess is why both the washing machine and refrigerator were scratched/damaged.
The day after the delivery I was cleaning my laundry room when I noticed the brand new vinyl flooring was torn when the delivery man moved my washing machine once it was off the dolly. When I called to report this damage I was told by a warehouse employee that his men said they didn't damage floor so I must have done it.
After dealing with several different people I finally received an apology for the damage and my treatment. Sargent tried to make things right by providing one item of merchandise free of charge but once they provided that any resemblance of customer service ended once again. A few days after they offered me the merchandise I found they have overcharged me on my invoice and I called to have them refund it. They said that since they provided the free merchandise they would not refund the $100 since the free merchandise should cover the damage to my floor and the $100 I was overcharged.
I went to Sargent not because they had the best prices but because family and friends had recommended them for their customer service.
Needless to say I will NEVER buy from them again and I would not recommend their services because once the appliances were delivered they could have cared less.

The Rochester store had Craigslist posting for a large kitchen fan priced at about 40% off. The very next day I went to the store to look at it. The employees would not or could not direct me to the appliance. Rather they said the unit was inferior and my house would stink all the time if I used it cause it didn't have the power of a much higher priced unit $599 vs $1,600 plus ones they wanted me to buy. My home is small the hood which the fan would be in is decorative rather than functional. I can't judge a store by one visit but this fella didn't want a satisfied customer, he wanted a big ticket sale at any cost.

I took the dimensions in with me and bought one I was assured would fit perfectly. On delivery day that was two days late they showed up started to remove the old one and then informed me it would cost an extra $50 for wiring. I had them check the size to make sure the new one was the right size it was 3/4 of an inch to short. They told me to hire a carpenter to fill in the gap. I told them I wanted one to fit the old hole and provided them all the exact dimensions so, I didn't want the new one that was to small. He told me he didn't remember how to hook the old one back up and left. The store offered me $50 off the new one but, the old one they broke was my problem.

I'm seriously disappointed with this store and it's service. I have a refrigerator that made a loud noise the same day it was delivered! Their response was to give it 24 hr.'s to adjust to the correct temperature. When I called them back, they sent someone out to look at it. The brand technician said it was the fan making the noise, and that a replacement part would need to be sent to my home, then he would come back to install it.(The refrigerator was only 3 days old at this point!) After calling back the store and complaining, they sent a new one out to replace it. Their delivery guy said they had problems with this brand and model. Now my 2ND new refrigerator is making noise again! (This one is 2 weeks old.) When I called back and talk to the sales mgr. he denied that there was anything wrong with the 1ST one that he replaced!(That DON'T MAKE SENSE?) I tried to show him Video and Audio evidence, and he wouldn't even look at it! I tried to tell him which employee told about the problems, but he was not interested!

We use Sargent's for all of our appliance needs, as done our families, they are just the best around! At Sargent's you don't feel like a number or a sale like you do at a lot of big name stores where they hound you and just want you to buy anything. the most recent purchase we made was a Sony television but we've purchased a few kitchen appliances there in the past year, they sell all name brands, like Sony, Maytag, Whirlpool, GE, JennAir and so on and so on. they have such a huge selection of each appliance you can think of, the sales people are always willing to help you but also let you look around for yourself, they offer financing which is a big help to us and I'm sure many other people too. the prices here are average or lower then average. I recommend Sargent's every chance I get.
