Probably not  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

I went to Sickles when I was about 12 and danced for maybe 2 years. I started my third year paid for one month and then never came back to class even tho the month was paid for. My reason for leaving was favoritism. If you weren't a competition dancer, they could care less about what class you were in and whether it suited your dance level. Me and a friend were probably 14 yrs old in a class with 8 yr olds. Not much fun.

I disagree  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

As a child Chris Sickle was my dance teacher. She taught me for 6 years. During that period never do I recall Chris having a bad attitute. It is hard for me to believe that she would call children inappropriate names. I was very excited to see that Sickles was still in bussiness, when I was searching for a dance studio for my child. I did not think twice about sending her to the dance studio, where I had a positive experience as a child.

I Agree  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

My daughter was also a competition student and I also decided not to bring her back, especially when I was told Sickles was moving to some of the Dearborn Public Schools system because enrollment dropped so dramatically she couldn't keep up with the rent in her building. She was rude and mean and should not teach students no matter where she holds classes! She also is NOT doing competitions this seasons because she's probably ashamed to show her face in the dance arena.

dont go here  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

After many years of dancing at sickles we learned one thing...Chris Sickle is down right mean!! Forget how she talks about all the moms she even talks nasty to her students. My daughter a competition student is one she wanted to hold back. Putting her with kids that did not dance at the same leavel. Well we left and so many doors have opened up for my child. Dance is a gift and if youre child has it dont take them to this school. The nummber of dancers that have left should tell you something!! And i here sickles is moving into a school gym??? Whats up with that??

Sickles Dances On  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

If you want to have fun learning dance in a non-stuffy environment where the parents who come are there for their children and not for a popularity contest like most other dance studios then Sickles is the best place for you. It offers both competitive and non-competitive dance. Chris Sickle devotes her talents to not just competition groups but to ALL dancers. She keeps her prices affordable with not only tuition but costomes and if your child is fortunate, competition fees are affordable also, so your child gets the advantage of a great experience plus outstanding instruction. So from my knowledge of Sickles (my daughter has been dancing competitively for four years and enjoys it immensly) I would definitely recomment this studio. Thumbs up!!

PROS: Affordable tuition and competition fees
CONS: none

Sickles is just ok  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

If you aren't very serious about dance and you're just in it for the fun, than a place like Sickles is for you. If you aren't in Chris Sickle's competition group then you will be taught by high school girls.

Chris Sickle also has a bit of a temper (usually shown at the recitals) and the last time my daughter attended this school, which she had been attending for 7 years, is when Chris came into my daugher's classroom and called every girl in the class "a bunch of little b**ches". After confronting her she only justified her actions and refused to apologize.....even to my daughter. She was 11 at the time. Very nice mentor that woman.

A bunch of people recently made a mass exodus from Sickles over to Noretta Dunworth where my youngest daughter currently dances. Wise choice.
