I've been going here for my sushi since moving here for college, used to drive up from Detroit just to get it.
Fish is always top notch, no worries here. Great selection at the sushi bar and the grocery is well stocked with Japanese products. Definitely the best sushi joint in the metro area

Can't go wrong with this one. Worth the wait , and the miso gets you open while you wait. You just have to get there on time. Cause when the "hunger" hits late , you out of luck to.

I have been going to Nobel Fish for at least 10 years. The quality has never changed the servers/sushi chefs are knowlegable and have been perfecting their craft for eons (one of the chefs worked in a sushi bar that I would go to circa 1984). The fish is always fresh, vegies fresh also and the tea is wonderful. My Favs would be the Michigan Roll.( don't know why they call it that for the ingredients are not indigenous to this state)- love the spicy tuna treatment/with the avacodo. I love also the miso soup. Other mentions would have to be the shrimp tempora roll and dynamite ( a darn-if-I-know mix of seafood that is cooked to form a pancake.)I have traveled many places and even places that are right on the occan can not compare with the taste of Nobel fish. The prices are also reasonable ... but watch it the sneek up a few cents every few months. Nobana is the daughter of Nobel fish and good if you like atmosphere with your food and are in the Troy-Rochester area. Nobana is higher in price also so you pay for that lovely atmosphere. I rather get my own tea and water and wait for the hole-in-the-wall seating to enjoy the BEST SUSHI IN THE STATE!!! at the best price.

Pros: Fresh and wonderful Sushi

Cons: Small space to eat , can get very crowded, don't park at ACO's they will call the cops and get you a ticket.

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for a long time, but they are not open late. We went last Sunday and it was fantastic! The sushi was fresh and delicious and the service was very fast. Nothing fancy on the inside, but clean and friendly.

Noble Fish has the best, most authentic sushi in the Detroit area - possibly in all of Michigan. In fact, I've been all over the country, and Noble Fish rivals some of the best sushi bars I've been to on the West Coast. The grocery store is great too, and the whole experience really brings me back to my days in Japan. They sell Asahi and Sapporo beer, and even some of my "konbini" (Japanese convenience store) favorites such as soba sandwiches and unadon. This has been one of my weekly stops since I moved to Royal Oak.

Pros: Excellent and fresh sushi, friendly service, good selection of Japanese groceries

Cons: Hard to get a table at peak times, parking can fill up

good sushi is hard to come by here, i've tried nami (overrated, poor service, rude staff) and cafe sushi (delicious, but a little pricey) but noble fish is hands-down the best sushi in the area. it's a quaint atmosphere - the staff is very friendly and they serve extremely fresh fish with large portions. i'm sad i didn't discover this place earlier. for those who have tried yotsuba, saica, or miki's in ann arbor, i would definitely rate noble fish among the same class as these places, if not better. the only negative is the atmosphere, it's an in-and-out place, good for carry out, but not exactly dine-in. the tables are small and you'll probably have to wait to get seated, but it's definitely worth the wait. the prices are very reasonable, too. anybody who loves sushi should give noble fish a shot. you won't be disappointed.

Pros: portion size, freshest fish

Cons: limited seating

.

The sushi is wonderful and moderately priced. Every piece of fish is remarkably fresh and succulent. It's best to plan for take-out, because the small seating area fills quickly.

At noble fish, you will find an excellent selection of fresh, frozen and packaged groceries, including some rare treats - imported gobo (burdock) came in this week.

It's a great little variety store. They offer some housewares and novelty items - ranging from teapots and dishes to origami paper. You may rent Japanese movies. I highly recommend browsing the candy selection for fun gifts.

(And always remember to park in back. Neighboring ACO Hardware is quick to ticket or tow your vehicle if you park in their lot.)

Cons: closed on Monday

It's a grocery store with a little sushi bar in the back, you can buy fresh fish to shampoo and if you like to collect toys they have the coolest toys. The seating is small and packed in but it gives for a great experience and people don't sit long and chit-chat so you don't end up waiting forever. Order your food after you sit down if there's a wait for a table, or take it to go and it's just as good. They have prepackaged that you can buy that's also to die for. I recommend getting one of the drinks from the cooler that has the marble in it, strawberry and peach are the best...the Hello Kitty one taste kind of like Sprite. There's also a bunch of drawings on the wall from patrons that adds a nice touch.

Small Sushi bar in the back of a great unique Japanese Market, the eating area has about 8 two person tables, so be there during off peak times if you like to eat out. They do made to order carry-out as well as pre-made daily selections along with fresh filets of Sashmi grade fish for you to take home.
Noble has the best selection of fish (Marlins, Snappers, etc.) and THE FRESHEST FISH IN THE METRO AREA because they supply a number of different Sushi places with fish. And they have no stupid rolls with 10 different kinds of fish in the same roll, pretty much your standard rolls.
The rolls and Sashmi are always expertly made because the Rice is so well prepared and never falls apart easily.
I hate to write such a review because there's only one table my wheelchair can fit at and if it gets too busy (like it is often) then I can't eat there.

I have some friends that I go with that drive 40 miles to go to Nami. Best sushi around! The wait staff are ready to help with whatever they can. The only drawback is that it is very small and you get your own tea and water out of styrofoam cups but I happen to think that is part of it's charm. Nami is addicting.

This sushi bar is in the back of a Japanese grocery store, which features cozy (japanese type of cozy) seating, long waits if you go there in the wrong time, good sushi and definitely good price. The place is down to earth. You'll find people from all walks of life (more professionals) eating there without an attitude of this being some kind of place to be seen. It's very busy, the wait for sushi may be a bit, but the Miso soup comes right up, as well as the self service green tea. The rolls are excellent, the sushi is mostly fresh as turnover is high. Yes, I do recomend michigan roll. If you sit at the bar, you'll find the chefs friendly and down to earth. After your meal, you can shop for all the Japanese groceries you like. Yes, there is one place better, which is Ajishin...but that's 30 minutes away.

As a sushi connoisseur, I think this place is great. To summarize...
This place is crowded, parking is terrible...
But, the sushi is cheap, and the Best sushi in Oakland county.
To my opinion, only Ajishin in Novi is better.

Noble Fish is good but it is not so convienent. The restaurant closes at 7pm and on all day Monday. During lunch time, it is always so crowded. I think we would probably go more often if it wasn't so inconvienent. However, the food is very good and if you're a sushi lover, this is a must try.

Hands down Noble Fish is the best sushi for the buck in Detroit. The service is very good and the sushi even better. I moved away from Detroit, but whenever Im back in town I make sure to make a visit in for sushi.

I love noble fish the best place in town Chefs are awesome and fun to watch work however there is a huge problem. This is selfish of me but I am tired of all the people there. I like watching the businesses i support succeed but now its 45 minutes of waiting just to get shoved in a corner behind some inconsiderate family that brings 2 strollers into a dinning area the size of a bathroom. There are 45 people chatting on cellphones and blue tooths. I think this is the best place in town to eat bar none. However the coustomers are ruining it. That and ace hardware is soo jealous they take 90 percent of parking spaces

As for noble fish. best food, best prices,

OK, the sushi is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS. Have the Michigan Roll, it's awesome. My boyfriend and I can eat here for $25, and be so full, we can barely stand up! That's unheard of at other trendier sushi places in the area. However, the hours SUCK, only open until 700. You have to wait to sit at an incredibly cramped table, too. So, order and take home for an awesome meal. They also have a large selection of pre-made sushi boxes if you want to stop in grab something to go. The chefs are awesome.

The hours may be bad, the seating unaccommodating, and you may have to wait - but this is the only place I can think of that can get away with it. The food and sushi is that GOOD. The secret is out and more and more are discovering the freshest and most expertly executed sushi in metro Detroit. I recently moved from Detroit and miss this place immensely. The fish is fresh and the prices CANNOT be beat.

I am an interplanetary sushi gobbler. I have travelled throughout the solar system in search of the very best sushi. Needless to say, I don't have to travel very far from my homebase here in Michigan to find some of the best sushi created in the galaxy. As you walk in, you see the goods sold be the Earth inhabiting Japanese folk... colorful wrappers, fresh fish, strange looking candies... it all reminds me of my home planet Nyarlatonex. The sushi chefs are expertly trained and make probably some of the finest sushi i have ever feasted upon. The MIchigan rolls are top-notch and the green tea is always hot. If I want to score points with my sushi loving human girlfriend, I bring her to Noble Fish!

I have to say it's an excellent sushi bar. They've got tons Japanese food and other goods as well. You can even buy your own suplies for making sushi. The chefs are quick and the sushi is always pretty good. The best part is they're just about the cheapest in town. You won't pay an arm and a leg, plus they have combo trays that are very inexpencive, they're a great deal. Lastly, they've got great atmosphere, it's just like being in a Japanese sushi mart.

This is the absolute BEST place to get sushi in metro Detroit. The fish is fresh and the sushi chefs are excellent and helpful. My only cons are the small resturant size and the hours. However, you go to resturants first for the food and this place is always packed. The reason: the sushi is the BEST. I go here for sushi at least once a week. The fish at Noble is purchased from here. They keep everything fresh and top quality.

I stopped in on a whim this afternoon. I had to look around the store to find this wonderful gem of a sushi bar. After asking a man next to me (obviously a regular) for his suggestions, I tried the Michigan roll, California roll, toro and onion hand roll, and yellowtail nigiri. It was certainly the best I have had. From what the gentleman told me, One World market in Novi is owned by the same person, and the sushi there is also the same quality and value.

I recommend getting there early for a seat at the bar for a wonderful experience. I was even given some superb green tea, on the house!

There are only five tables and a bar, which helps explain why it's often full on weekends. The other reason is the sushi itself, which ranks with the best. Just fill in your menu choices and prepare to be satisfied. We've tried most…
