I "happened upon" Dr. Lanier through an acquaintance of an acquaintance who new of his work in GA. I called Dr. Lanier from Atlanta about one of my labs and he was flying to GA that very same week. He comforted me and "Hope" and proceeded to do a successful ACL repair. A few years later "Honey" also needed an ACL repair. I called MI from New Orleans and learned miraculously once again that Dr. Lanier would be in Atlanta that very week and could see Honey who had stayed with Hope and my husband back in Atlanta until she could join me in the Big Easy. Dr. Lanier flew into Atlanta and repaired Honey's ACL using the tight rope procedure....she was partially weight bearing the day after surgery! During that same visit Dr. Lanier also removed a cyst from Hope's back. She was dancing the next day. Dr. Lanier has been sent to us from God. He is a special person and we are so fortunate to have been allowed to cross his path. I do not know where my girlies would be without him (and all of this happened with travels between MI and GA)!

I have taken my animal to a respected vet that was within 1 mile of my home since adopting her from Wayne County Animal Control. The other vet was very nice, and cordial; however... he dropped the ball two times with my dogs care. 1 time with an allergic reaction to a rabies vaccination, and the second; more serious.. did not further probe into her repeated pancreatitus/uti/bacterial infections.. I think the moral to my story is.. just because a vet is around the corner to your house doesn't mean they are the best fit. It's like Cinderella with the glass slipper. It took something serious to happen for me to realize that I needed to consider a different vet for my dog. It turns out my dog had severe pancreatitus and is currently being treated for diabetes, and is possibly borderline Cushings. All things that were discovered with blood work and glucose checks. I took my dog to the Emergency Vet on John R in Madison Heights and met a lovely DVM there named Dr. Burcham. It just so happens Dr. Burcham also works at the Warren Animal Clinic as well. She was able to care for my dog from life threatening emergency to her after treatment. Dr. Lanier has a wonderful demeanor, is very charismatic and caring. I wish my MD had his bedside manner! =) They have been very understanding, worked with me financially on a few things, and always kept the health of my pet as the number 1 objective. They never made me feel stupid asking questions, and calling to double check things as I adjust to caring for a diabetic dog. Without their support; I would be lost. I would recommend them to anyone. I am not a worker or affiliated with this clinic. Just a very satisfied, very honest, very happy pet owner =); who is thankful for all their care, concern, and first class treatment!
