On The Border?s festive atmosphere and top-notch margarita selection make it the perfect place in Chicago for a fun night out with friends or a relaxed meal with the family. The food, ranging from traditional Mexican favorites to more inventive and lighter fare, is always fresh and affordable. The Create Your Own Combo is a budget-friendly highlight ? you can mix and match two of your classic favorites, served with rice and beans, for under seven bucks. It?s available lunch and dinner every single day. And their famous freshly-made, bottomless chips and salsa are always on the house. The servers are laid-back and friendly, just like the atmosphere. Their famous patio is always rockin? when the weather?s nice, and indoors, you?ll be treated to an eclectic mix of modern accents and lively music. A night at On The Border is always a casual, fun-filled affair with a kick of Mexican flavor.
I loved the food here, as soon as I walked in I was greeted by very friendly hosts. I did not have to wait long to be seated. The wait staff was very prompt. Great Food, Great Restaurant.

Great resturant with yummy drinks and food. The waiters and waitress' are very nice. The bar area is small but comforting with many televisions to watch the games.
PROS: atmosphere and customer service

On the Border is my favorite mexican restaurant in the area. Thier fajitas are excellent and they have a new one that is moneray ranch chicken that is to die for.
To be honest, I have never had anything else off the menu. I just know when I am in the mood for chips and salsa, a margarhita, a yummy desert or a fajita, I know this is the place to go!

I was actually really excited when I had to make a trip up to Lansing (had to move down near toledo), and got a chance to go back to On The Border. Although I never went to this one, but only the one on Baldwin Rd near Great Lakes Crossing.
It was a disappointing experience, The stuffed peppers were great, the salsa was real good too, but the 3 sauce burrito which I usually always got before (that and the ranchillada) had very little sauce, and really had a strange taste to it.. Seeing I have Cinco De Mayo near me in Toledo, I do not think I will be going back to this one.
Pros: Best Chips and Salsa around, Good value, friendly service
Cons: Need to take a page from the other On the Border near Great Lakes

The food is pretty average but their drinks are excellent along with their chips and salsa.
