Koeun...you are soooo right, that woman is beyond horrible. I had a similar situation a few years ago, but guess what? I drove by there the other day, and the place is closed!! It made my day. Can you say, "karma", madam Gina? I highly recommend Cantoro Market at 7 Mile and Middlebelt in Livonia as a much better alternative to the now FORMER Chimento's.

I recently went to the market and saw molding far too quickly on the bread... I called to let them know, and the lady that answered the phone, I'm assuming her name is Gina, was incredibly RUDE! She was immediately defensive and wanted to argue with me, that I was wrong. She is a nasty, inconsiderate, HORRIBLE person to be employed by anyone. After she realized she had made me angry, she then offered what she should have first hand. She offered me a loaf of bread, but of course after the conflict to get to the point, I was completely turned off, and will definitely NEVER go back there again. With the economy so awful, I'd think that manager/owner would re-think who they hire to represent them. Someone like her will ABSOLUTELY turn MANY customers away.

Any time myself or my family would go to the store, Frank the owner knew us. We have moved out of state about 2 years ago and still order from the deli. The family there has been very nice and their food is fabulous! Every chance we get when we visit Michigan, we stop in to get groceries or just a sandwich- which we never leave with the minimum we went in for. Try it, you'll love going back.

Yes I did work for the Owner(s) Frank Sr. and Tony, I will say that they treated their employees fair, Frank always being one for a pick me up laugh, instilling Business sense with a work ethic of quick and timely, the food is amazing, the store immaculate of germs and dust, and the atmosphere allbeit of the cashier, grand! I only say watch out for Gina the main cashier, as she can be moody and sometimes forhtcoming, as well as nimble and bleak in her presentation, however the Staff and Store go together hand in hand as harmony!

PROS: only one needed... Frank Sr. always willing to know a customers name!!!
CONS: Thier cashier, Gina, She can sour the experiance, but dont count her!

Chimento's Italian Market has changed over the years. The new spacious look, with wheeled metal racks replacing the old wooden shelves, might not be to everyone's taste, but the selection of Italian foods is still excellent. The deli department is the star of the show. Their focaccia Italian subs are among the best in the area. It's always a pleasure to shop there.
