Peter . This is Mark L and my Ariens Story .
You sold to me junk from beginig and you never fixed this unit - over 22 times in service. Also BIG THANK YOU for you to ask me yesterday to close my account - you do not like my valuable comments about Ariens and your "dedicated" service. Please read below email fro Ariens - you never informed Ariens about my warranty problems - just fixing and doing shady work and some I paid a big $$$. Below:
You purchased your sno-thro January 3, 2004. Sno-thro had a 3 year limited warranty. Under the warranty, belts, cables, tires, electrical components, friction discs, idlers are covered for 2 years. Everything else would be 3 years.

January 30, 2006 - 2 years after you purchased sno-thro we paid warranty parts and labor for kit 53210100 and friction drive plate 03201100.

February 13, 2007 - 3 years after you had unit, it is now out of warranty, we paid for speed fork 03231700 parts and labor under warranty.

March 5, 2008 - 4 year old (one year out of warranty) we paid parts and labor for another 03201100 Friction Plate, 03225900 Bearing, and 05704300 retaining ring, under warranty.

Any maintenance issues, such as tune ups or adjustments are not covered under warranty.

I spoke with Pete at Peter's True Value and he said that if you have any questions concerning your product he will work with you. But your unit is out of warranty.

I don't know who you had contacted at Ariens, but we do respond to any message that are left and we respond to every email we receive.

Sincerely,

Joy Gilbertson

I dropped off my cub cadet zero turn lawn mower at Peters on May 28th 2010. It is now September 8th 2010 and it is still not fixed...they say they are waiting for a part(bracket). This is 3.5 months!!!! This is terrible service. My cub cadet is only a couple of years old and needs service for this bracket and something wrong wth the hydralic dirves. I am starting to regret buying this POS and now have to wait for cub cadet to stock a simple bracket to repair my POS (Piece Of Sh__) unit. I used to think cub cadet was a good brand but if I were you I would think twice before buying one. Early break downs and trouble (who knows how much it will cost me to repair) and very poor service!

Can't really form an opinion because I could not get anyone to answer the phone in service. That said I guess I would rate them poor. Can't imagine buying something from anyone and not being able to get a hold of anyone in service. I'll try Weingartz.

The service at Peter's is always great...and they have what I need in a convenient location. It is so nice to be able to run in and out and not have to go through a huge box store to get something. Be nice to them with your reviews! These are good folks!

I`m german and i moved here about a year ago. Whenever it comes to maintaining for eaxample my STIHL chainsaw, Peter`s store is my favourite. And also whenever you need something you can`t find at Home Depot, just ask at Peter`s store and they are usually able to help you out. At the beginning i expected the prices at Peter`s store might be way higher than in the big stores, but that`s not true.
I love to shop at their store and i was always helped perfectly, even sometimes my english was not so good to explain exactly what i was looking for. Thanks for your patience :-)

I purchased a Cub Cadet tractor from Peter's True Value Hardware three years ago and it needed repairs to be done. I have waited seven weeks and to date I have not received it back. I have called and called and all I get is that they are waiting for parts. This is a huge Cub Cadet dealer and if they can't repair something then I would never purchase a Cub Cadet from anyone. I have to pay one third the cost of the original price of this tractor just to get it repaired if that ever happens. I am extremely dissatisfied with the service from Peter's True Value and Cub Cadets merchandise. Buy a John Deere from what I hear the service is great and so is the product.

These guys were here before the big box stores. I have to admit shopping at builders square, home depot, etc. When you need a unique item, knowledge, or quality parts these people are the best! Their prices are often better than the big stores. They are the best source for Briggs & Stratton parts in the area! They helped me survive my first house, kids, and small engine repairs. Highly recommended!

I've been shopping at Peter's since they opened the little store. Their products and staff haver always been top shelf. I probably go in most weekends for small stuff or paint or odds and ends for various house projects and can't ever recall not having been greeted promptly and asked if I needed help. I also do most of my rentals through Peter's as well as my propane. Peter's has always been a welcome change to the "Big Box" and a courteous source of advice and insight on tools and techniques for first timers.

Peter's is great in all the ways people here have mentioned, but I did have some experiences there that were kind of annoying..

Three times last year I went there to buy between 3'-6' of soft copper tubing.

The first time, a young guy's waiting on me. I tell him what I need, tell him don't roll it into a loop after it's cut-he says "okay" gets me what I need and that was that.

Next time a woman approx 35yo is waiting on me. I tell her what I need, and not to roll it after she cuts it, and she gives me some reply asserting how skilled she is with copper and handling it etc. But I tell her again anyway that I don't want it rolled into a loop.

The last time I go for some soft copper tubing, a girl approx 25yo is waiting on me. I give her the same instructions, and I look for some fittings in the plumbing aisle while she's gone. When she comes back she's started to roll it into a big loop. I tell her don't roll it up, and she says, "I know how to roll copper".. I tell her again I do not want it rolled (!)

She left and even though I was in the plumbing aisle for at least another 10 minutes, she never returned to ask if I wanted more assistance. Was she mad?

So, the women there seem a little more intent on telling people what they know, or maybe even being a little defensive or challenged in some odd feminine way, than just complying with what the customer wants.

Kind of a blot on an otherwise great store with great prices..

I love this hardware store. I am horrible with remembering names of items and they always have exactly what I want, and their employees always know right where to look for it, even if you don't know the real name of the item and just describe it for them. A real treat is you can find speciality holiday items here that you cannot get at mass merchants.

I like to shop at Peter's Hardware store because they have just about anything you might need. The associates have always been very helpful and informative. I usually have a lot of questions and they have always been able to explain things to me so I know how to do my project. The store is clean and well organized.

I've never gone into this store without the employees helping me. Many times I've gone in looking for something that my husband needed and I don't even know the name of it. All employees - even those that are teenagers are knowledgable about a lot of things I have no clue about. I'm really surprised that they know so much. It's almost like they take training classes because they know everything from fixing a toilet to putting down wood flooring or even welding something.
