Being in the medical field, I have had my share of not so pleasant medical staff.

I had Dr. Jeffrey Johnson as my surgeon. He performed my biopsy and he is going to perform my cholesystectomy as well. I have nothing but good things to say! Very fast, professional and courteous. I almost never have to wait on him either, which is a big plus in my book. I declined other surgeons because they gave off so much arrogance - he does not do that and I appreciate it.

The staff at MMS is very courteous and efficient as well. They are also very much appreciated!

I would definitely recommend MMS/Dr. Johnson to anyone.

Dr. McKenna improper? May I say bulls... here? In the several appointments, plus surgery, involved in my gallbladder care, he was as close to perfect as any physician I've ever encountered: fantastic skill; great bedside manner, and gave of his time like I was the only patient in his busy office. If I had another gallbladder, I'd go back in a heartbeat.

After experiencing intermittent pain in my abdomen area for several years, having undergone numerous tests, I was sent for an ultrasound. The resultant image showed a gallstone the size of a jumbo gumball. I was immediately referred to a surgeon and became afraid. In my mind, the title SURGEON means "in the business to cut through skin and remove tissue" - MINE! I was not happy about it. The research began. There were pros and cons. I believed that God put the gallbladder in me for a reason, why remove it! I considered holistic methods for treatment and other alternatives.

Needless to say, I arrived at the office dressed in anxiety. Dr. McKenna was confident and personable, but not cocky. Pleasant and professional, serious and direct. He explained the procedure in detail. In lay language, he answered all my questions and even warned me that, because of the size of my stone, the holistic approach would be dangerous. He advised against it. Even though I was afraid, we talked and laughed during the consultation. Oh, yes, he and I were in the examining room alone. Not once did he do or say anything inappropriate.

I was scheduled for surgery within a week. Alarmed, because it was so soon, I told him I would get back with him to confirm. I was still leery about cutting and removing parts of my body. Just before the surgery, he prayed with me, and assured me he would do his best. I asked that he keep the stone so I could see it after the surgery. He did better than that, he gave me step by step color photos of the June 27, 2007, procedure. I was delighted.

There were no unforseen complications. The incisions were small and the scars can barely be seen. His follow-up was reassuring. As soon as I opened my eyes from the sedation, there was Dr. McKenna. I was seen in his office for the after care visit and, again, he was detailed, professional and cheerful. We laughed about my initial anxiety.

It is absolutely absurd that someone would dare to spot his professional reputation with what, apparently, is a personal opinion - just as this. I don't believe that anything inappropriate and/or outside the scope of the professional needs took place in Dr. McKenna's examining room. Consider the source. It is strange how the mind works, and one can only wonder what was on the mind of that writer.

I recommend that anyone considering surgery, try to get in with Dr. Timothy McKenna. He is a wonderful surgeon and has an excellent bedside manner.

P.S. I am an otherwise healthy and attractive woman in my mid 50's, not once did he do or say anything inappropriate.

Dr. McKenna operated on my Husband for his gall bladder. He was very professional and compassionate toward both of us. We were scheduled to see him later in the week for his problem and ended up in emergency before our scheduled appointment. Dr. McKenna came to the hospital to see us even though it was his day in the office, and later came to do the surgery for my husband. I would trust him with anything, he is a very Honorable and Christian man.

I had to have surgery two months ago and Dr. McKenna was my surgeon. He was very personable and he did a great job. After talking to him he told me that he wanted to do surgery as soon as possible. Not necessarily because I was in danger, but because I was so uncomfortable. Dr. McKenna not only performed surgery on his normal day off, but he even attended his own mother's funeral that same day. I was amazed that he would still care enough to do surgery and make sure that I wasn't in pain anymore. I'd recommend him to anyone.
