My three year old was writing her name by the end of the school year in 2005. Granted, I worked with her at home also. It's like anything else, you get what you put into it. The parents who are part of a co-op understand that they will be volunteering their time in exchange for minimal tuition. Work, appointments and other children are always took into consideration. Scheduling can be worked out in advance. Rules and regulations do not make sense to people who do not wish to follow them. My experience with this pre-school has been nothing but positive. I feel that I guided my child's first encounter with education. I created friendships with other moms and have enabled my children to approach "big kid" school with a positive outlook. If that is the wish for your own children, then this is the pre-school for you.
FYI The school has a new address. It is 465 Oak Street at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wyandotte.

PROS: Teacher is warm and friendly without being annoying.
CONS: I would like to see the 4 yr old class with at least 10 children.

I have one child enrolled and pulledmy older child from the schoolafter one month. This co-op is incredible demanding and changes the "rules & guidelines" at every board meeting. Parents are required to attend meetings every month, each parent is assigned to be a field trip mom or clean up mom (or some other duty and fundraisers are a requirement. It doesn't sound like much but it becomes a full-time job very quickly, especially when the procedures change so often. And beware of anything that isn't in the ever-changing guidelines - there are "assumed rules" that they make up at their every whim, as needed.

The Moms and Tots class is wonderful - the teacher is great! The class is wonderful - painting and craft projects every week! But I would NOT recommend the 3 or 4 yr old classes. They just aren't up to par.

PROS: Great Moms and Tots teacher - craft and painting project every week!
CONS: taughts on a very "baby-ish" level - even for 4 yr olds. Not challenging.

I recommend this pre-school if you want to be really involved in your child's pre-schooling. You have to take on a job like "field trip mom" or "fundraising mom" or "scheduling mom" or become a Board Member. You have to work 2-3 days per month with the teacher in the classroom with 1 or 1 other moms too. I was Treasurer for this organization a few years ago and I like the way they run the school and let the parents be involved so much. I didn't give it five stars because you may be a parent who doesn't want to be that involved. It's up to you but it's a good pre-school!
