Initially I really loved this place. First, I had two rodents euthanized here due to cancer and the staff was all very caring and it was the cheapest place around. I am a student, and a poor one, so this is an issue.

Later in the year I brought my rabbit there to be spayed because I had a nice experience before (well, as nice as it could be losing two pets) and it was still the cheapest place around. The surgery seemed to go okay and I was really worried about the cut healing so I kept my rabbit caged for 5-6 days before I let her out so she wouldn't move around too much and do any damage. She'd already been in the vet office for two days before that too. The day after I let her out I noticed a lump where her incision had been and told them on the phone when I made an appointment to get her stitches removed. I brought her in and they said that the stitches /inside/ of her had come open and that it would be just another quick little incision to get it all fixed up and I could come get her the next morning and that it wasn't a big deal, that it was a quick fix. I quickly signed a surgery form and left. I came to get her and was faced with ~$350 bill on top of what I already had paid for the initial surgery (only $120). Apparently the first time they stitched her up they gave her single stitches that would dissolve easier so that she wouldn't need antibiotics, but this time they double stitched her so it wouldn't come undone. There had also been complications in the surgery due to it being worse than they thought! I gave her her medicine for a week and she has been a happy rabbit for months. But, I wish they'd have double stitched her the first time /and/ that they could have given me an estimation of how much the second surgery might cost as opposed to making it sound like it was their mistake and it would be cleared up immediately! 7-8 days seems like more than enough recovery period. I love my bunny, but that month I couldn't pay rent! Not going back.

Pros: Very very very nice staff and vets

Cons: Not giving me a price estimation; weird surgery issues

My experience with this clinic has been nothing short of amazing. My puppy had pneumonia and had to be hospitalized at the clinic for a few days, and the staff went out of their way to play with him, and give him plenty of attention. They definitely care about their clients, and remember everything about you and your pet. They have great hours, and Dr. Mary even leaves her pager number on the clinic's answering machine just in case you need her after hours. I never hesitate to call with questions, about my puppy's health or even training advice. They really take care of you and your pet!

Dr. Missy and her staff are five star all the way. They will love your pet and remember him/her on your next visit. They gave us wonderful advice for moving three cats from East Lansing to Seattle, WA that helped us on that horrible drive.
