If you go to breakfast anywhere in Ann Arbor, it has to be Angelo's. The deep fried French Toast, made with the restaurant's own raisin bread, is to die for. It can get real busy on weekends, but the restaurant seems to turn customers over fast enough that the wait will never seem that long (plus this is not the type of diner that has customers that monopolize tables for hours on end on a weekend). It can feel crowded once you are inside, but the staff is attentive and you get served quickly. I just can't think of any competition Angelo's has for a weekend breakfast in Ann Arbor. And its proximity to the hospital makes it perfect for going on a weekday (say, for example, after you have some lab tests done).
The best breakfast you will find anywhere in Michigan! Homemade fresh bread gives the french toast the superb fluffy flavor. The eggs benedict and any of the sandwiches are tops as well! Do not miss this opportunity to dine here. Prices are very reasonable and service outstanding.
This is a famous local restaurant for its breakfast. Usually you will see a long line waiting to get into the small place. They do have parking ,2 small lots that you can park but most of the time it's full. The breakfast is worth the wait. Big plates and very homemade style. I highly recommend the french toast and the pancake it can't get any better then that. A bit pricey for breakfast but it's all worth it.
Located near the medical center on the corner of Glen and Catherine, for those not familiar with the area. We encountered a line at the door, but it only took 10 minutes to be seated. The food was fantastic and the service was prompt and friendly.
Pros: Great food, ample portions, nice atmosphere
Good breakfast option. The hash special was so delicious I almost finished it all (not an easy feat!). Some fresh jams, instead of the little packages of Smuckers, would have been more appropriate for the good toast (which are a meal in themselves).
I don't even like breakfast food but I always looked forward to going to Angelo's during my study at the University of michigan. I only went maybe three times but I liked it every time. In a great college town. GO BLUE!
Pros: great selection, large servings
Cons: long wait, small space, parking
