ahh! the smell of chocolate hits you upon entering the shop. dark chocolate is good for you, right? so i indulge in a few of my favorite chocolate covered nuts and fruits, and a couple of truffles. coffee drinks are exceptional also. i love the family owned ,comfy atmosphere.

The Chocolate Cafe (now called chocolate house) has everything that could possibly make a place great. The chocolate used to be just OK, but now they have a new line of truffles and some other chocolates that are way better tasting and more affordable than Kilwins or Schokolade. They also have very good ice cream and related deserts.

Now that it's getting cold out, we have been getting hot chocolates and mochas there, which are amazing! Combine the hot chocolate with their delicious chocolate cake, and then you're really in for it!

Besides the fact that this place has an amazing treat for everyone in the family, the chocolate cafe also has a really cool environment with the friendliest staff you could ask for. The manager, Michael, is especially helpfully. He is putting together boxes of chocolate just for us to hand out at Christmas.

Check it out! Even if you have been there before, things have definitely evolved there. I don't even go to Starbuck's anymore for lattes because they are better at this place. Next week, my girlfriend and I are going to try their chocolate fondue, which I have heard is great too.

While I will say that the Chocolate Cafe has excellent hot chocolate and nobody else offers a "chocolate fondue for two", generally they are pretty mediocre. If you're looking for ice cream - go to Kilwin's or Washtenaw Dairy. (Kilwin's is the only place in town that has any idea how to make an ice cream soda)

If you're looking for chocolates, though, skip all others and head to Schokolade. You won't find a million novelties like at the other places (I always stop at Kilwin's for cute stocking-stuffers), but their chocolates are hands-down the best.

The Chocolate Cafe is a great place to take a date for a cup of cocoa, but if you are looking to bring good chocolates home, keep walking.

The Chocolate Cafe is located right on Main St in a charming historical home. In the front of the store there is a selection of ice cream, and when you travel further back there are all sorts of cakes, and other confections dipped in chocolate. The chocolate cake is fabulous and the staff is friendly. There are tables both outdoors as well as inside...so you can either people watch on the sidewalk, or talk with some friends indoors. It's a nice place to go for some terrific dessert.
