I have been bringing my animals here for the last 8 years.
They take excellent care of my dog and cat. They take time with you and your animal when you are in the room with the Dr. and techs. There are a few times, when we have waited long but they are a very busy office, and it is worth the wait to me.

Last summer my 3 year old dog got stung by a wasp, and she had an allergic reaction to the sting, she couldn't breathe too well, they had us bring her right in and they grabbed her from right over the counter when we came in the door and took her in back and gave her some medicine. They were fast and efficient, and my dog within an hour of being there was perfectly fine except for the sore paw from being stung. I was only charged for an office visit nothing more. I wouldn't take my animals any place else, their health means too much to me.

I am so suprised about the negative comments for Parkview Animal Hospital. Having been a cat owner for over 30 years I have been to several vetrinarians and found Parkview via a recommenadation and could not be happier. The staff are so kind and professional. They answer the phone by identifying themselves. In an emergency they have also been helpful in steering me to an alternative 24 hour location.
The docs have never sold or forced me to get unwanted shots or services and despite their busy schedules have spent time with me explaining the pros and cons of various tretments for my pets condition.
I could go to a vet within 1 mile of my house but instead take the long route to Parkview because I believe in their compassion and ethics. Bravo!

After reading all the comments on here, I've decided to add my own to the mix. I hope all animal lovers out there read this. If you can avoid taking your pen to this hospital, please do so. Like so many others that have left comments on here, this place only looks out for the MONEY and not the PATIENT! I've had to sit there with a sick dog in my arms an hour or more after my appointment time. Yes, I have received helpful information from some vets but also some terrifying information also. They honestly love to upsell you things you don't need. At this point, I have an older dog who means the world to me! I have asked for just refills for prescriptions and have been made to feel horrible by the girls in the front when I call. It's like a bother for them to take the information. If you have ever been there also, you will notice there are a TON of girls working at the front desk....not one of them can help you if you don't sign in first! I've had to wait 45 minutes one time to pick up a refill! If my dog wasn't near the end of his life, I would definately find another clinic. It is very hard out there to find a caring and honest clinic. Hope any of this information will help.

My 9 month old mastiff got VERY sick last night, we took her to an emergency appointment that they were able to squeeze her into... and THANK GOD we did... and THANK GOD we took her there!
Like many others, we are suffering from MI's bad economy right now, and my puppy needed an EMERGENCY surgery for a perforated bowel (in 2 places... they actually had to remove a foot of her intestine because she ate a sock that got stuck). The Parkview staff were WONDERFUL! So compassionate! They agreed to see us with a post dated payment. Dr. Sheldon and a few other staff members actually donated 4 hours of their time AFTER HOURS to preform the surgery And they worked out a payment plan for us for her surgical meds, antibiotics, x rays and blood work
I have been to so many other vets who only see my animals as Dollar signs when we walk through the door, I was actually even told before by other offices if I couldn't pay for the complete care plan at the time of service that I could just take my animal home and whatever happened happened.
I am SO grateful to have found a vet that still cares about the animals well being!! If it wasn't for Dr. Sheldon and the Parkview staff, I don't even want to think about what the outcome would have been for my puppy. I cannot say enough good things about this animal hospital... I would recommend it to EVERYONE! Good care is not always easy to find these days... but that's exactly what you'll get here!

Never been to other hospitals but Parkview is so perfect that I just could not ask for more. All services are great and reasonably priced. The staff is very caring and understanding. Very pleasant environment! This place is worth the extra few miles out of the way.

I found this place when Scarlet, our pitbull/boxer, got stung by a bee. Her whole face swelled up, so I needed to taker her somewhere immediately. I had my mom look online to find the closest vet, and started driving. I got there, and she was seen immediately as they could tell it was an emergency. She was given a shot and some antihistamine and I was told to watch to make sure she was breathing ok. The prices were reasonable.

Then, on Halloween, Scarlet got hit by a car and we rushed to Parkview. They were still open at around 6 at night and saw her immediately once again. Ran some tests, bandaged her up and sent us on way. She needed to go back for surgery, etc... and follow ups, and I think that it was a little ridiculous to charge us for every time they changed her bandages. We were going every day or every other day for 2 weeks straight. It cost us $1000 to have some stitches and some bandages...

The staff is always friendly and answers your questions.

For some reason, we took her in again without an appointment for her routine shots, but when we walked in, no one at the desk even acknowledged us. We stood there for over 10 minutes and no one even said hello! So we left. We are reluctant to make an appointment with them because of this, but it is really close to our home and they know Scarlet. I've read some horrible reviews about her normal vet on here (Long Lake Animal Hospital), so maybe I'll give this place another chance.

Today my Scooby was attacked by another dog in the lobby of the hospital. I was told to put my scooby on the scale to get his weight when another dog in the lobby bit him in the mouth. I was given an antibiotic but was not offered a recheck to see if it is healing properly or at all. So no I did not feel there was enough room in the lobby. I was then charged for an ear smear i did not approve. I left today not feeling the love for my pet,but instead just another $ sign through the door. I will never return

I don't normally post messages, but after reading the others on site, I was left wondering if they had been to the same place. I found Parkview when my dog was near the end of his days and I needed to ease his way home. After calling other vet for prices, we found Parkview to be the most reasonable. My husband stayed with my dog as he passed, while the staff was very supportive. They even made a plaster of his paw for our memories. When my lab began to limp just days later, we retuned. When the xray showed the pup was full of cancer, they were just as shocked. They didn't try to upsell me, but told me that I could try to save him, but it would be expensive and have no guarantee. Dr. Sheldon told us we should let him go. With our dog Chase, I have found them to be thorough in the exams, professional in their service and kind and gentle to him. I have never waited more than 10 minutes to be seen. While they have informed me of services available, I have never felt pressured to purchase something I did not want. When I have been undecided on a service, they have told me to wait and consider it for a later date. I would highly recommend this service for the four legged members of your family

The facility is very nice, but that is about all that I can say positive. Prepare to be oversold about unnecessary pet meds and accessories. They will use scare tactics to get you to buy items you do not need, you will be overcharged and oversold ie: they will require expensive bloodwork for routine checkups. Also, the last 3 times I have been there, I have waited in the waiting room for well over an hour, despite my advance appoinment. Two of those times, they actually forgot about me. They overbook big time and operate like a pet factory. Avoid this place. They are just out to make $$ and pet care is secondary.

I waited in the waiting room for two hours after my scheduled appointment time before being sent to a room to see a doctor.

The vet tech seemed nervous/skittish to handle or greet my pets in the room before seeing the doctor.

I was not happy with my overall experience, from the staff or the prices.

This is a large building and staff and I didn't feel at home at all. I will not be going back.

After going to the closest Vet to our house for a few years (Madison Veterinary Hospital on 12 Mile) and finding their prices to be extremely high, despite the quality service, we decided to try Parkview, based on a friend's recommendation. We have found that the Vet is excellent, straight forward, and practical and the staff is friendly and accomodating. My only complaint is the wait time is generally 20-40 minutes, which can be a problem, if your dog our cat doesn't do to well around other animals, like ours. However, still worth it - reasonable prices and great veterinary advice and treatment!

I have been a parkview animal hospital user since they opened and was for about 4 years. animals can be very expensive and I know this. However, every time I would enter thier office my visit would be well over the amount anticipated and they ALWAYS could find something seriously wrong with the pet in question. it wasn't until I took one of my dog in for constipation that I had, had enough. The vet tried to tell us that the dog was having bowel problems due to an enlarged prostate and that we needed to have him fixed. I had already paid for my cat and my other dog to be fixed and I wasn't having this one fixed because we had wanted to breed him. I declined her explanation. I gave him soft food and he has had no problems going since. Another incident. when I first went to them with my cat they did x-rays and told me he had "crystals", they had to do a high dollar surgery and he had to be put on expensive food and medication. a couple of years later when i took him in for vaccinations another vet told me that all cats have "crystals" and there was absolutely no reason they should have suggested surgery. One of their own vets told me that. I won't be going back.

I will try to be as nice a possible. But this is the second worst day of my life. My beautiful dog Wolfie died yesterday. I lost my last vet to a move, so when Wolfie got sick I started looking on the Internet for a new place to go. I picked Parkview partly because of the good reviews here. I called them, they were very nice on the phone. I took Wolfie in he was in distress and I didn't know why. My appointment was at 2:00 I got there early to fill out the necessary forms. It took about 45 minutes to see the vet which seemed like a long time to me for a dog in distress. They did a blood test and xrays another 45 minutes for the results. (they told me the blood tests had to be run again. Finally they told me Wolfie had arthritis and that was the reason for pain. I didn't really believe that because he had always been so active and showed not signs of any pain from movement and still didn't. But I wanted to believe it. He did have so bad teeth and I thought that was more likely the problem for his pain. But I am not a vet so I decided to go home and try the pain medication along with antibiotics. Gave Wolfie his first dose of meds at 4:00 pm he was no better at 4:00 am. I gave him his meds again. Wolfie never slept at all that night and he got worse. I called the vet back and he said I needed to give the medication more time. I told him I was concerned about Wolfie not eating and the effect that the medication could be having on his stomach. He said yes that could be a concern but offered nothing else. To make a long story short I called a few more time that day. The doctor stopped coming to the phone and relayed messages via the receptionist. Finally by 7:00 that evening I was really concerned and asked my husband to call back for an appointment the next day to have Wolfie's teeth examined (that was never done during the initial exam even though I expressed that I though that is what was bothering him). Their reply was that they would not be able to see Wolfie till Monday. Mind you this is Thursday night. My husband said I don't think Wolfie will make it till Monday. Their reply was that they were sorry but they were booked up. I ended up taking Wolfie to the emergency vet but he died on the way there. Now for the trying to be nice part. I am devastated and don't think my dog died from arthritis. They were not only uncaring but unprofessional. I spent $320.00 on that visit and the vet wouldn't even take the time to come to the phone when my husband and I called with our concerns. They treated my like I was a bother. After my neighbor found out that Wolfie died and I told her what vet I went to she told me a few years ago she took her dog Boomer there they pulled all his teeth a month later he was dead as well.I do not recommend this place they are very uncaring and unprofessional.Wolfie's mom always

This place is the best when it comes to animals. When I moved here from GA I called all over and decided on this place. I had 2 cats altered here. They use laser surgery! I could not believe the difference the laser surgery makes. My cats were home playing and eating the very same day as their surgery. They called me at work to let me know they were out of surgery and to tell me how they were doing. Their prices are excellent too. You can get a female cat fixed for $65 and thats for the laser surgery. For regular surgery its $15 less. I cant say enough good things about this place.

PROS: prices, option of laser vs traditional surgery
CONS: none

I think that Parkview Animal Hospital is one of the nicest vet's I have been to. Their prices are far below any other vet's I have been to. I never have any problems getting in for an appointment. They always manage to get us in when we need it. The vet's are caring and take their time with the animals.

Parkview has been our family veterinary clinic for years. Due to their friendly staff and great service we keep going back. They are clean and through and do a great job with the pets as well as their owners. With their new building it's even easier to get in & out without a fuss. Recommended to all!
