I was in their mom-and-baby playgroup starting when my son was about 5 weeks old. The facilitator was great, leading useful discussions with the other moms, teaching age-appropriate songs and activities we could do with our babies, and giving ideas for baby-friendly places in the area. It was the first place I was comfortable going with my baby after giving birth, and it was such a wonderful experience! I'd recommend it especially to all first-time moms who want to have a wonderful time with their babies while sharing joys and frustrations with other new moms.

The lamaze childbirth class was only okay. It was more of a hospital labor orientation than a real method of dealing with labor. i think that was mostly due to the instructor who was a labor and delivery nurse. The breastfeeding class (taught by a lactation consultant) was very helpful and informative. It definitely heled to give me a good start. The mom/baby playgroup was a great place for meeting new moms, discussing how motherhood affects you, and learning some songs and games as well as other infant development. Meeting the other new moms was probably the most important aspect of the class- I'm still in touch with some of the moms.
