3 Stars: Its a campus bookstore... (by Courtney V.)

Therefore, expect the books to be expensive, and the basic supplies to be a ripoff. That's what I learned in my first week at university.

They do carry a huge selection of books, they have plenty of staff available to help, their return/buyback policies are clearly printed on both the receipts and placards in the store, and they have an excellent art supply section.

They also carry tons of Michigan clothing and gifts, and they also have a Clinique counter in-store.

PROS: Centrally located on campus
CONS: Basic supplies are outrageously priced

4 Stars: The place for books and supplies (by James T.)

This is my usual choice for books and supplies, unless it's for a humanities course. You can also find practically everything else here from drafting to art to clothes to cap and gowns. Prices are comparable to other places and I suspect part of their success is due to their location.

3 Stars: Textbooks galore! (by Tian L.)

This is a pretty good place to get your text books. The best thing about this store (and other stores) is that they have listed the classes that uses each particular book. This makes a good deal of sense since most of the time people go to these stores without knowing what they really need for class. Nowadays however, i learned better than to waste $140 on a book when I can go to half.com and buy it from india for $30.

4 Stars: good book store (by jun q.)

it is another good place to find your text books. The price might be little bit higher, but you can find some useful course pack that you can not find it online. It also have a lot of thing you need during the school. and they also sell unique UMich survernior, so you can buy it for your friends and family. They also have some make up counter that you don't have to to trip to department store.

3 Stars: Michigan Book & Supply (by Shari J.)

They have a lot of Michigan apparel, supplies, etc. The lines aren't that long but tend to be slow. The location is nice also. I frequently stopped in after class on my way home. They assist you with locating your text books. They usually have the books available. You can also pre-order books. Prices are higher than regular retail stores.

3 Stars: Text Books (by Lakshmi K.)

Michigan Book and Supply is located right on the corner of State St and North University. Book and Supply sell all sorts of text books, school supplies, as well as art supplies. What's especially nice about Book and Supply is that they have a Clinique makeup counter so you can go into the book store and get your bonus time gift without having to drive to the mall buy your makeup.

3 Stars: Outrageous prices on everything except art supplies (by Lisa S.)

Michigan Book & Supply is a typical campus bookstore - textbooks are twice as expensive as they are online, basic supplies (notebooks, pens, pencils) are outrageously expensive, electronics are even more incredibly overpriced ($10 for a 3 pack of CDrs, what a joke).
However, their art supplies are always very reasonably priced, often even better than off-campus retailers.
The bottom line: avoid like the plague unless you're buying art stuff.

4 Stars: Good priced, high quality art supplies (by Sarah C.)

This is more a review for MI Book and Supplys Art Section. I know one big complaint people have are its outrageous book and school supply prices in the main store. But I have found the opposite in the art department. It is definitely cheaper than a craft store (Michaels et al.), and many times cheaper than other art stores. For example, their mat board was $3 cheaper than another art store in town.
