When we moved to this area the only choice for cable tv was comcast. Over the years the prices got higher and higher but no other services were offered for the price increase. The quality of the picture was very good, and customer service was pretty helpful, although no one could ever seem to explain to me my bill--I know I couldn't understand it. For a period of time I also used Comcasts Internet service. In the beginning it was great, a new member for only $20.00 a month. After my 6 month period was over, my price jumped up to $49.95 a month, a huge increase in my opinion. Now that we have more choices I have switched to satellite and pay $75.00 less a month than I did with Comast.

PROS: Great TV picture
CONS: Price increases

I can't say I'm entirely happy with my service because I'm not. I've been using Comcast for a long time for my internet service, and until they started "upgrading", I didn't have any real problems. Once my modem went bad, but that wasn't their fault. However, lately they've been making changes and it's been very inconvenient for me and my family. We had an interruption of service for almost a full week! They reimbursed me $5.10 for my lost time, but what if I'd had a home business? Would they have reimbursed me for my lost business time? I'm sure they wouldn't. I haven't had any problems in about a month, but next time I do, I'm switching to WOW.

At first I thought they were going to be a good company. Then when I tried to get to my stores web site, I couldn't get there using Comcast. When I repetedly called for help I got one guy who told me "Your internet server is so far off the backplane of the internet it can't see it." If your not computer literate let me put it this way. They couldn't dazzle me with their brilliance, so they tried to baffle me with their bullshit. I lost thousands of dollars in revenue by going with them. After I dropped them and I turned in my equipment (and had a reciept to prove it) I kept getting billed for service. When I called they told me theyt had no record of me turning in the equipment When I told them I had the proof..they asked me to fax it to them. Once I did that, I still got billed. This time they told me that the billing didn't stop until they disconnect their line from the pole. I told them that because they had service issues and can't get their tech's out in a quick response it wasn't my problem. I got another bill after that. I called..told the gentleman my problem. This time I heard that not only did they make a mistake..but I was owed money. HE filled out all the forms and 2 weeks later I recieved a check for the balance of the monies I had not used. Then...just when I thought I was done with it I got a bill the next month. I didn't bother calling..and they finally stopped sending the bills. VERY BAD BUSINESS.

PROS: None - I switched to Wide Open West.
CONS: Bad service, Bad Quality. Bad Bad Bad.
