I have been taking my vehicle to Crofton Automotive for 4 1/2 years now. Pat & Shari have been honest with me in concerns to my vehicles, have helped my son during a accident with his car, etc. Down right good people. Local business, honesty, good value on repairs, and always available when I need to get a vehicle in on short notice. Do I consider them friends? Yes! Thanks for the great service.

I live in traverse City and became aware of Crofton Automotive during deer season one year @ 5-7 years ago. I have had very good luck with them and their knowledge about auto repair. I continue to have my vehicles repaired provided I can get to them without damaging my vehicle to drive the 130 so miles. This coming deer season, I will have new tires put on my vehicle and also have everything serviced and checked out. I am a contracter, I abuse my vehicles, and rely heavily on C Automobile to keep them serviced and in tip top running condition. You guys are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not know what happened with the person writing the first review, but my experience has been nothing less than exceptional. As a newer resident of Hemlock, I was looking for a local business to do my car repairs. I found that in Crofton's. Having my vehicles only there on three different occasions does not paint a lifetime picture, but those three were all great experiences. They have done minor things like oil changes and tire rotations, to brake and strut replacements. Every time they were timely and kept me informed of the progress (and didn't charge me for the phone call!). Sherri and her husband are very hard working and concerned about the vehicles they have in their possession. I recommend them to anybody looking for a home-town auto repair company.

I will NEVER go there again! I took in my car on a Friday asking them if they could look at it the following week. No problem we can get it in sometime next week they said. I waited the whole week and still no call back on my car. Finally I called back on Friday, and asked if they looked at it. Nope, Monday definitely Monday I will look at it.... I promise. So I called Monday. Sorry I didn't have time.... tomorrow I promise. I called back Tuesday. Yeah we looked at it but I still don't know exactly what is wrong so tomorrow I will give you a call. I called Wednesday... Finally I got an answer. The answer is it's not worth fixing. It needed a new spark plug to get it running enough to drive it home. The heads were bad and the repairs would exceed the value of the car. I paid $45 for them to look at my car, even though it took 7 working days for them to look at it. Then I paid another $45 to put a new spark plug in. NOT including the cost of the parts.

I took one of my other cars in for a brake job previously. I asked for them to look at my brakes and to do an alignment. They got my car in that day. Replaced my pads, rotors, and put a hardware kit on. And they never did the alignment I asked for. Finally the bill came it was over $200! I asked for them to put on the best pads, and they didn't. They charged me for a phone call (a phone call to tell me how much it cost and give them permission to work on my car) they never called. And when I went back 5 months later because my pads were already going bad, they asked me if I wanted to upgrade to the ceramic pads. I would only have to pay the difference in price between the old pads and the new ones... since everything was under warranty including their labor. $41 is what the difference was. I don't know of any pads from second best to best... that the difference in price would exceed $20. In fact they said the new ones final price was $80. When I looked online the most expensive pads were $60. So considering they get everything at cost, they charged me for labor that was under warranty. It just didn't show up on my receipt.

Trust me I know other people with similar stories. I just wish I would have known then what I know now. DO NOT TRUST THEM.
