Today I had to see 'The Other Vet'...(not Dr. Linda) who scolded me for my 8 year old rescue dog for being maybe 5 lbs over weight. Talk about the diff of human vs dog years /weight... So it's okay and credible to be an older 40 ish 5'3" 250 lb female with tats even on the HAND to scold an owner after I dropped over $1200 (massive heartworm) in a rescue mutt to save a life and treat special after freakin 7 years of neglect AT YOUR ESTABLISHMENT? Want to punish me for that and talk down to me...oh blatent one one of no self control. WE WILL GO ELSE WHERE. and Dr. Linda never had problems examining my pup...at least I was nice enough to warn you before he almost reduced your massive body fat.

I have gone there for a number of years. However, in December, 2009, I brought my 3 year old dog in for what they told me were necessary vaccines. He had been deathly ill only 6 mos. prior. They administered their cocktail of shots and within less than 6 days, my dog died; secondary to his illness. He never should have received the vaccines because his immune system was so fragile. They were well aware of his illness, but wanted to sell shots. Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some vaccines are required only every 3 years, not every year.

Deal only with Dr. Linda Schmitt. She is no longer the owner however, and you may have to deal with the other vets, unfortunately.

I have taken my 13-year-old corgi to Schmitt's Animal Hospital since she was a pup. Both Dr. Schmitt and Dr. Jones have provided excellent care and have been very helpful with suggestions for preventive care, answering questions, etc. I would recommend these vets to anyone, they are wonderful.

We have been taking our dog to Schmitt's Animal Hospital for several years. They have always been very caring and have always taken the time to clearly explain issues about our dog's health.

Over the past few years I have brought many of my pets in to Dr. Schmitt and I have always been impressed with the service. They are busy but I think that only speaks to the loyalty of their patients. The thing that I like best is that they don't try to gouge you by doing tests or treatments that are unnecessary for your pet. I have recommended this vet to all of my freinds and family and they are equally as happy. I have recently moved an hour away and will still make the trip to bring my pets here.

Dr. Schmitt has been taking care of my dogs since last year. She is great with the animals and full of knowledge. She makes sure I fully understand everything before I leave! I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else!!

They killed my cat.
I should start at the beginning. Whenever I went there, they were always crowded. They never saw me less than 15 minutes after when my scheduled appointment was supposed to start, and then they always rushed me through the exam. I felt more like I was in a busy McDonald's than a medical office.
When my cat got sick, they told me that it was nothing. We kept bringing her in, and they would tell us that there was nothing wrong. Once, the receptionist asked us, "Is she the one with kidney problems?" and that was the first we heard about kidney problems. Every time we asked the vet a question, they would dodge our question and tell us that there was nothing wrong with our cat as she kept being constipated and losing weight and getting weaker. They insisted that there was no medication or treatment for kidney problems in cats, so we shouldn't worry about it. My fully grow cat weighed less than four pounds and couldn't even stand when she finally died. Can you imagine what it would be like if you were showing the early signs of kidney failure and your doctor told you not to worry? Imagine begging your doctor for more information which they refused to give. Imagine having all of your questions dodged so thoroughly the only thing you can do to get any information at all is to Google something that the receptionist accidentally let slip. All you can do is watch your loved one getting weaker and weaker as your doctor refuses to admit that there's anything wrong to begin with. That's what we went through.
When my cat's sister started displaying the same symptoms, we took her to a real vet who gave us real information, real explanations, real medication and made us feel like they actually cared. More importantly, we're actually treating her kidney problems.
Schmitt's should be put out of business.

PROS: Maybe they actually know something about dogs.
CONS: Everything. They should have their license pulled.
