I have been attending Anita's on and off for many years. She is an amazing woman that cares for the kids that she teaches as if they were her own. I honestly see her as a part of my family and cannot picture my life without her in it. We have been to competitions where people applaud the fact that Anita doesn't hound girls to be rail thin, and that she instead just accepts and encourages everyone to be an individual and to not try and fit into some stereotype about how dancers, actors, or singers should look. She is amazing at what she does and I guarantee there is no other studio like Anita's anywhere else in the state.

Reading through some of the less positive reviews of the studio I have some things to point out to the penny-pinching parents:
1. Recital tickets for any acceptable venue are generally around the same price or higher at any other studio. I have a lot of friends who dance at other studios, trust me on this one. And really, are you honestly complaining about how much it costs to watch your child perform on stage and do something that he/she loves? Obviously there are going to be charges later in the year because of the recital. If you thought it was going to be free to attend you must be on something because that doesn't happen anywhere.

2. About the recital tshirt. She makes it clear in the beginning of the year in the slew of paperwork that she hands out to students that there is going to be a required recital tshirt. This helps brings unity to the studio and helps students feel like family. But it is also a good system to help make sure students don't walk around without cover-ups on during recital because if everyone has the shirt no one has an excuse not to have something on over their costume.

3. About the "hidden fees" if you sign your child up for acting anywhere there are going to be extra fees. Anita has to buy the rights to any show that she does. She also is not legally allowed to reproduce any of the scripts. So if you don't want the so-called "hidden fees" tell your child to ask to be in the chorus and not bother trying out for a part. And if you are still complaining about the price of tickets I don't know what to say to you. Pull them out of dance because any worthwhile activity that helps teach kids discipline, structure, self-confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and helps them develop their artistic side while having fun is going to cost some money. It would be a lot cheaper for you just to let your kid sit at home and watch tv after school and just become another statistic...

4. As for the recital information. Anita gives out all the needed information for EVERYTHING in class. The info is also available on the web site so if your child is not responsible enough to bring a note home, google the name of the studio. Also the answering machine business. They do their best to return every call, but if no message is left, they cannot return the call. There are only people at the studio during normal operating class hours. They don't sit around by the phone when there are no classes in session. The e-mails for the important staff members at the studio are also available on the website.

5. Costumes, unless home-made or bought at a thrift store are expensive everywhere. All you have to do is walk into Halloween USA to see that. Speaking of that, many times the costumes can be reused so the cost evens out because you save money on Halloween.

Anita's is amazing! This is more than just a DANCE studio. The kids are trained in all aspects of performing: dance, acting, and singing. They put on theatrical plays in their own theater and the shows are professional (even for the younger kids).Teachers are great, very patient, and they make learning fun!
Costumes are reasonably priced (not hiked up prices like other studios), you only pay what the costume companies charge you, no added on fees.
Monthly costs are low. You get a discount for additional classes, and they are the ONLY studio I know of that has a maximum payment (which means, once you hit a certain amount of tuition per month, you NEVER pay more.)
Anita's choreography is amazing. Fresh new ideas all the time. The performances aren't "cheerleader-ish", "or too competition style, they're more entertaining and fun to watch... like something you'd see on Broadway.
A very well established studio, with 30 years under their belt.
Every recital is scripted, making them not as boring as other recitals I have attended. All extra fees are mentioned at registration, you know what's coming and when! We got a folder and booklet that outlined the entire year, and we knew what payments were due right from the beginning.
I like that they offer excellent drama classes, and include boys & girls into every opportunity they have to offer.
Anita's also represents AMTC, and helps these star struck kids live their dreams!

My daughter is attending & in the upcoming recital. They give you all the info. on what you need to do but no price for recital tickets. Makes it very difficult to plan for family members to attend or myself. Whenever you call there you always get an answering machine & rarely a return phone call.

We started out really loving Anitas. The dance teachers are wonderful and the classes are professional. The studio is beautiful and the class prices are reasonable. The problem came during the year when there was always extra costs being added. I felt that every week we were being asked to pay another fee for something or another. I think that they would really be doing a service to tell you upfront to expect an additional "X" amount of dollars to be spent over the course of the classes so that one can be prepared and not feel negatively about it when it happens.

PROS: Great instructors, beautiful studio
CONS: Nickle and dime you.

I can't speak for myself since I've never taken a dance class here, but my daughter absolutely jumps for joy the day she has dance class. It's one of her favorite activities. They have great teachers, great prices, and it's definitely wonderful exercise for my little one. Unfortunately Anita shoots herself in the foot with her end of year costs. The video for end of year performance: $56. The recital tickets: $15 each. Finale t-shirt (required): $15. Plan on just handing over your June paycheck to Anita.

PROS: Great teachers, nice facility
CONS: End of year costs are exorbitant

Both my girls went to this dance school when they were young.
The school is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking.
This center teaches children (both boys and girls)starting at a very young age (my girls were 2years old) and up to adults.
The teachers are fabulous. They love children and are really patient. The children learn coordination and have fun doing it.
At the end of the year, they put on a program at an auditorium.
Dance classes are reasonably priced, but the costumes for the year end performances can be really costly.

PROS: Great activity for both boys and girls
CONS: Costly costumes
