There is nothing positive about this place. The office staff is rude, in person and on the phone, will treat you as though they are doing you a favor for performing services you are paying for, you barely see a dentist as they meet with your children behind closed doors. Despite appointments being made months in advance, they will call and want to move up your appointment to suit their schedule. When it couldn't be accomodated, the receptionist told me "Well that doesn't help us at all". I'm sorry, I thought I was paying YOU. I asked for records to transfer to another dentist and was told "They can start their own records". I would never recommend this place to anyone. Family dentists are much more friendly and accomodating. Grins and Smiles? More like Grimaces and Snarrels.

This place is the worst place to take your kids! The staff is exceptional, but Dr. Shah is probably the meanest person I've ever came across. Being a parent and not being in dentistry ever, she seemed to expect me to know everything about teeth. She made me feel very uncomfortable when I was asking questions, and gave me an evil look, as if she was digusted by me in some way. I went through with the visit, but I will never go back, nor will I ever referr ANYONE to go to this place. After being talked to in a little room outside, and being treated as if I was an idiot, I went back with my child. I noticed that she even gives her staff that was busting their butts the same look! FYI BE PREPARED TO PAY!

I have a special needs child, who I took to this dentist - per the advice of his pediatrican. Kid's Smiles said they treated special needs patients. Well, they may treat them, but they know nothing about Autism. [My son has screamed and been held down numerous times. Awful.] My boy is terrified to go there now. After 5 visits totally about $3,000.00, we found out today that a tooth they capped needs to be extracted. They are referring me out to an oral surgeon. I have no idea how much more money that'll cost. I feel so frustrated. I thought I was doing right by getting my son's mouth fixed. I've kept plodding along with what they tell me to do, thinking they are doing what they should be doing. Now, after 5 visits, my sweet little autistic kid is still not done with dental treatments. I can't believe this. More stress and pain to come. I dread it. If you have a normal child, this dentist may work for you. Although, I do not recommend them to anyone at this point. If you have a special needs child, DO NOT take them here please. Try an accredited sedation dentistry place instead. I wish Kid's Smiles would have been compassionate and educated enough to refer me out to a sedation dentisty place -- once they saw my son and realized how terribly afraid he was. I hate to think that they might have put him through this, just to make money. I do not recommend this dental office to anyone. I am cancelling all future appointments, and if anyone asks for a place to take their kids, I will tell them for sure to steer clear of this place.

My kids have been going to Kids Grins for a couple of years. Everything was fine until last year. They gave my daughter x-rays that she was not eligible for and I did not request. My insurance covers x-rays 100% once a year. She did not need x-rays, nor did I request them. They swore that I requested them and billed me for them. I was pissed about paying for something that my insurance would have covered. They paid for half and I paid for half, but I am still upset. I should not have been expected to pay anything for their mistake. I told the office manager that if that ever happens again I will pay $0 and all 3 of my kids will go to another pediatric dentist. Their office manager is very annoying. She acts as if she is never wrong.

Make sure you are never late for an appointment and be prepared to feel bad if your child has a cavity because it is your fault and make sure you know everything about what your insurance covers or you will be "dismissed."

Took my 18 month old in just to make sure he had no cavaties (he didn't), but they wanted me to wean and watch teeth videos.

Sorry, I'm not watching videos and I don't need them to tell me when to stop breastfeeding.
