.

We have stayed at many inns across the country. The staff at this one was courteous when they were there, but no one is on site after 10PM until sometime the next morning. The first night was quiet, cool and pleasant. However at 7:45 AM there is no coffee in the lobby and no vending machines on sight that we ever found. So, we drove into the small nearby town for coffee and pastry, a minor inconvenience. When we returned there was coffee in a pump dispenser, but it was cold. That afternoon 3 of us had to shower and prepare for a wedding. We thought the room was hot due to the activity and the showers. We were wrong. Returning from the wedding around midnight, we spent a miserable night in a hot room with no one at the desk. When my husband mentioned it to the clerk at checkout she looked at her computer screen and told him the air had been turned off in our room. She had no idea why. We were refunded a little more than $20. Needless to say that was not satisfactory. Miserable and tired, we skipped the wedding party brunch and headed home
The rooms are ridiculously overpriced for what you get. We rented 2 rooms, $115 and $100 per night. The best thing was the stencilling in the room. Everything seemed really uncared for. I don't want to say "old" because we like old. There was mold in the bathroom. If you come to a wedding at Lakeside Inn, stay in New Buffalo - it's not that far away. It's likely that weddings keep them in business. (In Madisonville Tx this spring we stayed in an inn from the same period, had a professionally prepared breakfast, all for $70 per night.)
