Got into a bit of a fender bender and needed a fender and door. I needed them to be red and they told me not to expect an exact match on the color, which I understand, as long as it's close enough. I picked up the parts and was very pleased to see that not only was the color almost exact but they were just as they were described to me, no surprises, and they were ready and waiting for me when I got there. Hopefully I don't have any more accidents but if I do need anything else, this is my top choice!

I just bought and engine from Dix Auto Parts this morning. I was offered a lifetime warranty on a used part. I was so excited. Of course since I plan on keeping my vehicle for a few years it was worth the extra money. I will be sure to go back again for any future parts I will need. Great service, great warranties and great to deal with.

I bought a used power steering pump from dix last week, I gave them the wrong info about my car and ended up buying the wrong pump, I called them and told them what happend and they were more then happy to let me return it and get the correct part for my car. I was treated with nothing but respect and they were very helpful, I love these guys and will be a customer for life :D

I was calling around to all the auto parts stores in the detroit area looking for a engine for my truck, Not only did all the other stores put me on hold right away but nobody had the engine or acted like they wanted to find me one.. I called Dix auto and they had one and had it with really low miles, they also had a lifetime warranty I purchased... The customer is CarZ Auto. They purchased an extended warranty on a motor they purchased in September. In January the motor was returned. We did not have another one in stock. We tried to buy another one, but could not buy one. We returned their money which is an option, on our warranty. They were very mad that we did not have another one to provide them with. The warranty states: ""we will either repair the part, or replace it with another used one or give you your money back (whichever we deem best)."" We gave them their money back, because it was our only option.

Just a bunch of used untested junk from this place that gets shipped from state to state from the location they have out of michigan. I bought a fan from them and was never told over the phone used parts came from them since i never went there before and no were in the company name says used parts or salvage just says auto parts of course it was no good after a couple days but living in livonia it was hard to get right back. So after a few weeks i made it back there and i know im a little past the return date but i ask the manager who was a complete disrespectful person out of concideration if there was anyway i could make a return or even get a little off ordering the next 150.00 used fan assembly and she basicly told me to f off. Avoid this JUNK YARD at all cost it will only cost more in the end.

We buy only recent model cars (no after life cars) and store the motors for long periods, this is proper storage procedure.\nThe engine is a used salvage motor over 10 years old and had a small amount of rust, which would be expected, but the longevity of the motor is not affected. We are so sure of this motor, we offered him a lifetime warranty on it, which he declined.\nThe motor has been resold without complaint or incident and we have warranted it for lifetime and this includes an allowance for labor.\nThis gentleman gave us a bad review because: He first wanted $550 for repairs and said it was for repairs to the motor which was his personal car and it needed the repair. We agreed to give him the money even though we did not believe it needed repair to avoid the shipping cost of return. The next day, he said it was for a customer (not his car) and he would need $750. ordered a engine. recieved looked like it had sat out side in the elements for at least 3 years. intake was completly faded white.all alluminum severly corroded. engine was uncovered on the pallet. none of the vaccum ports were plugged tbi was just open and full of dirt etc.. i pulled spark plugs to discover that wd-40 had been recently sprayed in the cylinders. so i scoped the engine with a snap-on scope to discover the pistons and cylinder walls sever rust and pitting. i called and the customer service lady was arguing with me telling me its normal for a engine to be locked up from rust and wd-40 fixes them!!! lmfao im a ASE certified technician and owned my mechanic shop for 15 years and im telling you these people are flakes. they refunded me my money after 2 weeks setting my customers back.

Atman who says he was ripped off for $500 is really a salesman for Route 12 Auto Parts in Illinois, by the name of Warshawsky. They purchased a Front End Assembly for a Cobalt for $1500. They purchased from us, because our price was better then they could find anywhere else. They insisted on using their own cartage co. to pick up the FEA from us. We offered to ship it and be responsible for it, but they wanted to save money. The Front end left our place just as described and the pictures taken at the time show this as a fact. Sometime later either by there shipper (R&L) or by Route 12, somebody picked up the FEA by putting a fork between the FEA and the pallet it was strapped to. They agree we did not do the damage and claimed R&L did the damage, R&L says it was fine when they delivered it. The damage was to the cooling system. Thinking that they were only making a few hundred dollars on the transaction we agreed to send the cooling parts they needed, about $400 worth of parts, so they would not take a loss. They then said the cooling system was junk. We called their customer. The customer confirmed the cause of the damage was a fork and told us they were charged $2500 for the FEA and that their was nothing wrong with the cooling parts, and they would have used them, except their customer wanted new and would pay the difference. Even though they were responsible for the damage and kept our cooling parts (I assume to resell them), were making $1000, not a few hundred, lied to us about our cooling parts, we still tried to help them. They presented estimates (not paid invoices) for $800 for new parts. Still, our employees wanted to put this to rest and hoped by being generous; we would make a new customer. We agreed to pay half. They then wrote the complaint on City Search and liabled us on Craig?s list and god knows were else and said they had written them and they said they would continue to write terrible things unless we agreed to pay $900, even though we were not responsible. We told them we would not be black mailed. You be the judge, did we act honorably?

Recently I purchased an engine from Dix Auto Parts knowing that when buying a used engine if a warranty is offered I am all over that! To my surprise even though the engine I purchase had a little higher engine then I waited, I felt ok about the purchase, they had a LIFETIME warranty, what the hell. Who would have thought that. I bought the engine had it installed and now I am driven down the road (for alot less $$$$) then buying new.\n\nThank You Dix Auto

To whom ever wrote the review regarding the fire. How dare you joke about a our building burning down. This is not a joke, we have been a part of the community before you were even born. This is an awful event which you have no right to laugh about. I hope that you have your source of income burn to the ground.

Seems this location burned to the ground June 11 2007. Black smoke filled the sky for several hours. I would not recomend this place at this time.

UNFAIR- We replaced his motor and paid for the installation of the replacement motor.\r\n \r\nOur failure rate is small, we only sell motors that are recent models, taken from cars that have been in accidents, and were insured, (no after life cars) . These cars were running at the time of the accident.\r\nAn extended warranties buys extended time and the cost of labor on a one time claim warranty. This is an industry standard, not only the recycling industry, but it's the same with Best Buy, and most other extended warranties sold. If we covered multiple claims, the cost to the consumer would be to high to purchase. \r\n\r\nWe provide a good product, at a reasonable cost and give the option to pay for additional time on the warranty, and to cover the labor as well, on a one claim basis, just like most extended warranties sold. \r\nThe customer said we are rude. This is because he was combative with his salesman. We try to train our employees to take abuse, but being combative does not help. \r\n\r\nThe customer said we had a bad price. Then why did he buy it? I am sure he shopped it. We as an average, have the best prices in the area and are known for our low prices.\r\n\r\nThe customer said we are disorganized. We were one of the very first to computerize in the industry, we continually work on reverifying our inventory, for condition, and location and do portions of inventory on a weekly basis, and are extremely organized. We have to be, since the cost of buying recent model vehicles is very costly. If we are not efficient, we would go broke quickly. We have been in operation for 60 years.\r\n\r\nThe customer says we are unprofessional. We sell very little retail. 90% of our sales are to automobile dealers, mechanics, and body shops. They all demand well organized and professional suppliers.

Bought a motor with an extended warranty. 8 months after purchase the motor went bad. They replaced the motor and paid the person who installed the first motor for his labor for putting in the second motor. No muss no fuss. highly recommended.

Very rude and dis honest.... They do not check out their engines before they sell them to you. They sold me a bad engine then tried to use my extended warranty even though it was knocking before I ever picked it up from them!!!! \r\n\r\nAvoid at all costs!!!!
