I first experienced the Health and Wellness Center when I had to have rehab after knee surgery. Shortly after, I bought a membership and have had one for years now. The facility is wonderful, the staff are helpful and they keep the equipment up-to-date and well cared for. I could almost like working out when I do it here :-)

This is a health club associated with Chelsea Community Hospital, but it feels more like an executive health club. To start, the locker rooms are spotless, and stocked with everything you'd ever need, like towels, shampoo, lotion, mouthwash... all included in your membership fee. The locker rooms have a hot tub, sauna and steam room. The Center has two pools, one with very warm water, which is especially appreciated by the many seniors who are members of the gym, and the other is 'normal' temperature for doing laps. In the fitness area, they have a wide variety of equipment and machines, including treadmills, elliptical trainers, steppers, rowing machines, and everything you'd expect. For weight training, you can choose from free weights, universals, or the cable machines. They have many 'accessories' for working out such as bosu balls, stretchy bands, exercise mats, medicine balls, balance boards and more. They have a wide variety of classes available, such as yoga and pilates, swim aerobics, and more.

On the fitness floor, you can always find one of the friendly training staff who can help you figure out a new machine or give a second opinion on your workout routine. You can also hire the trainers for one-on-one personal training.

I have my children enrolled in the Kid Center, so I can work out while they are taken care of on-site. My kids are 5 and 2, and they LOVE it there, and it's not hard to see why. They have a great selection of toys, games, art supplies, dress up and pretend items, and even 3 computers for playing educational games. The staff is involved and loving, and always greet my children enthusiastically by name. Not only does it give me time to myself for a good workout, but I know the kids are interacting with other children and adults and having a great time.

The hours of the Wellness Center are great, too. They are open very early and stay open til 9:30 most nights. On the weekend, they have more limited hours, but Saturday and Sunday have d

PROS: Executive class amenities
CONS: Slightly more expensive than others in the area
