We really liked this place until today. My wife and I ordered two sandwiches to split, one having a chicken breast on it. My wife wasn't really paying attention when she ate hers and just said it was a little chewy and liked our other sandwich better. I took a couple bites into mine and quickly realized it was raw chicken. The outer edges were seared but by far the majority of my half was raw so I'm sure her half was too. We normally don't complain about things at restaurants but obviously raw chicken can be very dangerous so we told the waitresses. The waitresses were appalled by it and very kind and apologetic but seemed nervous about saying anything to the owner. The waitress said she didn't know if the owner would give us a refund or not so I told her I would appreciate it if she did (just for that raw chicken sandwich mind you, not the whole meal even). So the waitress went back, came back out to us, and said the chef said since my wife ate hers before realizing it was raw that her half couldn't possibly be raw and she would only refund us half the cost of the sandwich. Ridiculous. The servers were again, very kind and apologetic, but for an owner to be okay with serving someone raw chicken and still making them pay for it is absurd. I can understand mistakes happen in cooking, and we would have come back if we hadn't had to pay for that part of it, but I'm just floored that any business owner, let alone chef, wouldn't stand behind their product and make sure the consumer left safe and happy. Extremely disappointed. They've lost our business and whenever Frona's is mentioned in the future, we're going to pass our experience along.

This is a very pleasant restaurant near the lake. I've only enjoyed breakfast at Frona's, but the restaurant is definitely a family favorite. The coffee is very good, as are the breakfast specials. The omelets are always delicious and filling, but the oatmeal is my favorite item on the menu because it has a great mix of flavors including cranberry, cinnamon, and orange zest.

I love this little bakery/deli. It very close to Gull Lake in a building that used to be a gas station/grocery store. All of the baked goods--including the bread--are homemade. The salads are made with the freshest of ingredients and are outstanding. Try the garden salad and the strawberry-pecan, when they have it. For a casual lunch or breakfast, this beats most big-city establishments. I wish I lived at Gull Lake all year-round so I could visit more often!
