This is a fun place to ski. I love pintail peak too. I just wish is wasn't so flat to get to and from that peak. There is a lot of variety and you can put in a VERY full day of skiing.

Nub's nob offers the best skiing in Michigan and in the whole Midwest. They offer 52 slopes and the beginner hill is free of charge.
Kids 12 and under ski free and it's a great place from beginner to advance. Because of the lack of Apres ski and lodging, usually only locals ski there, but this gives it a much friendlier, personal atmosphere.
If you need lodges look at a condo area right by Nub's called "trout creek".

PROS: Awesome place
CONS: No lodging(good and bad)

This local ski resort really packs them in and has some of the best skiing in the midwest. Ski here if you want to ski with the locals. Most of the tourists ski across the street. Be careful during the holidays as the lines get very long. Take advantage of night skiing for cheaper rates. Inside the lodge the food consistents of nachos, hamburgers, etc. Typical bar food. They offer lessons and rentals as well.

There are a lot of different slopes for every person's ability, from super beginner bunny hill to triple black diamonds. The lodge is nice and warm with an abundance of food.

Growing up on the east coast and sking in VT, NH and ME for years, the mid-west does not compare based on size of the mountain / hill! If however you do not want to drive to Canada or Lake Placid and you want get some good sking in - no one does it better than Nubs. They have awesome snow making - when its cold they are making snow.

Great learn to ski/board programs, new snow board park and an amazing cafeteria!

Of all the ski resorts I've been to, I keep returning to Nub's. They have a great setup, it's easy to find people as the runs all connect into three areas (and the colored lifts really help!). The staff rocks, always present and helpful even ski patrol which is always easy to find. And for being a family resort in the mid west they manage to maintain great steeps, race courses, and an awesome terrain park. The constant improvements in the terrain park are really impressive, last year the big scary jump, became darwfed overnight with the arvial of the mega new jump. It's also nice to see how well Nubs accomadates locals the ski and snowboard teams from nearby towns all use the hill and even get it to themselves. Even the non skiing members of the group aren't left high and dry, the caffeteria offers great food.
