Worst Bridal Shop EVER!!!
by michelle t.
Where do i begin? For my first appt, they measeured me wrong and ordered the size they wanted to order me instead of the size I asked for. They called the bride to tell her that the bridesmaid dresses were in when they werent. With that information, I made an appt for a fitting and when I got there, they said the dresses werent in! Then why would they ask my name, the brides name, and all the other info they need to make an appt when the dresses were not in?!? I drove 30minutes and wasted gas to get there and they did not once apologize. So I had to go back when they arrived for the first fitting. So for my next appt that was scheduled at 4pm, I came in on time and they told me that they thought my appt was at 5pm instead, so the dress that I was supposed to pick up was not even close to being finished. By the way, it was too tight like I told them it would be. They said that I must have gained weight and proceeded to measure me again to prove I did. (I was a bridesmaid the week before for another wedding and the other bridal shop measured me correctly the day before I was measured at maria's and they ordered the right size and I fit into it perfectly so I know I didnt gain weight.) The seamstress told me that they are never wrong and she incinuated that I was lying!! She never said I'm sorry!! They are soo rude and have the slowest service ever! They told me that they order the dress they want to order so its easiest for them and could care less about their customers. Oh yeah and the alterations they did on all the bridesmaids dresses were horrible. Everything fell apart before the wedding reception! Never will I go back there!

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL
by belle s.
I am from MI but I live in NYC and when I got engaged I knew I wanted to buy my gown in MI. I called Marias Bridal about 3 weeks in advance to make an appointment and spent about 20 minutes on the phone with the woman helping me, explainging to her that I only have that one weekend to fly out to MI. I made my Apt for the Sat of Labor Day weekend (this detail was discussed with the woman at the store) and bought my tickets. On that sat mornign I flew from NY to MI and when I got to the store there was a sign that said CLOSED FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND....I was livid. My sister banged on the door and someone answered...when we explained that I had an appointment at 1pm the woman replied 'you must have made a mistake because we are closed...and this isn't our fault, we never make mistakes' so I told her I dont think I made the bmistake considering I had spent $300 on plane tickets...she told me it was my fault and that my name was no where in the book, but she would do me a FAVOR and turn the lights on so I could look at gowns.
The way I was treated was appaling. I flew all the way to Rochester to try on a gown and was ready to buy that day ....along with my 6 bridesmaid dresses. To tell me that I made the mistake is the worst customer service...they didn't even appologize or seem sorry at all.

Don't Do it
by ashley c.
Bought my dress here. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know. Terrible service. A bride has enough to worry about for her wedding it has just been terribly unsettling for me to work with them. After every appointment I cried. And they truly could care less if they made me upset or not. Poor customer service. Alterations were awful. They weren't done when I went to an appointment and they didn't bother to call ahead and let me know. Seriously, even if they do have the most wonderful dress there...DON'T GO. It's just not worth the added stress.

Nightmare on University Rd.
by Anonymous
My daughter found an amazing gown here. The sales clerk was helpful; we ended up ordering the bridesmaid dresses here as well. After the salon had our business, we became invisible to them. Management was terrible. Everything from that moment became a nightmare. Customer service is a non-entity here. Alterations are sloppy. We were ignored. A bridal store, in my opinion, should be a happy place. The bride should be treated well. There were no warm-fuzzies at this place! Cold and uncaring. Brides, do not go here - no one smiles!

WORST PLACE EVER!
by Shelia S.
Where do I start.... 1. I had an appointment and 10am and at 10:10 an associate floats by and says "It'll be a minute". 2. When I walk in she gives me any annoyed look for being the first client waiting outside the door for opening, asking, "What can I help you with, why are you here" as she stands next to an APPOINTMENT ONLY sign... (I would be guessing I had an APPOINTMENT!) 3. After the sales lady asks which types of dresses I am interested in, she rudely keeps interrupting me telling me how I am using the wrong terms of mermaid vs. trumpet skirt...(I am sorry, this is the first time I am getting married and not overall familiar with the terms) 4. After hearing I wanted to stay in the lower box of prices they had available she huffs and puffs and opens a door to an overwhelming room stuffed of dresses and never checks back. 5. After I decided to not even attempt to try on bridal gowns, my bridesmaids and I glance through their bridesmaids dresses for ideas. Again, the saleslady NEVER checks on us as my two girls and I are holding arm fulls of dresses looking for the fitting room. 6. When we are done and picked out the top choices that we will look for at OTHER HELPFUL boutiques, we leave and say goodbye and don't hear her respond (She is at the counter talking to a friend) until the last one of us is out of the door. I was incredibly surprised by the lack of customer service. I highly suggest all future brides to STAY AWAY from this horrific place. I have worked in retail for years and cannot entirely describe the disgust I had with this boutique.

Awful Salon!
by Anonymous
This is the worst salon I have ever been to! I also left the store in tears because they criticized my size (a 4 !! Do they only serve zeros?) The dresses were all dirty. The staff was extremely rude and I overheard them tell someone to try and lose weight before their wedding! DO NOT GO HERE EVER!

Horrible! Picture the seen from Pretty Woman!

I echo the last post, I had the worst experience ever and walked out store in tears and balled in my car. Waited to be helped for over half hour, no one said hello or can I help you, was finally sent into the bridesmaid sample room of >100 dresses to find the one style number by myself, and then again waited , was ignored, and thrown into a dirty dressing room . No one would help me and they were not even busy. Please do not go here, they should not be in retail or any other business dealing with the public.

Twice ignored!
by Anonymous
Make sure you have an appointment otherwise they will pretend like you are not there! Even when they are standing right next to you! They will not even say "hello" or "how are you today? Do you have an appointment? Let's schedule you an appointment so I can be of assistance to you." That would have been helpful. I ended up walking out of there nearly in tears twice because they make you feel like you are not good enough to be helped. Dresses are real expensive so if you are not looking to spend a lot that's not the right place to be. If you need one quick it's also not the place to be although most bridal places require ordering. I ended up going with Group USA and saving a ton of money on a beautiful dress that did not have to be ordered and is perfect for a Jamaican destination wedding. Mission accomplished.

Maria's is a great place for formal attire. My wedding dress came from there and they have great selections for any dress and are quick and precise with the alterations. For events that are going to be memorable, you want to look good and they really help. The staff is like one big family and just as helpful as can be.

Mari's bridal was an ok salon. I did not end up purchasing my dress from them, but I did go in a couple of times and came very close. They have a smaller salon than a few others in the area. I found their sales staff to be helpful. The one thing I did not like was they do not price match. I ended up ordering the EXACT same dress from another salon for hundreds cheaper because of this. Does not seem like too good of a business practice to me.
PROS: Free alterations w/wedding gown purchase
