I have visited the Admiral Store in Merrillville, Indiana and let me tell you the place is a scene out of a horror picture. The staff is barely dressed, wearing dirty, torn clothes, and are rude. They do not find it unusual to take cell phone calls during your transactions, and speak badly of their company, manager and anyone in authority in this company in your presence. I have even walked in on someone working a 11-7a shift and they were on their laptop, while I waited to be served. I gave up after three attempts at getting good service, and did I mention I bought a food item their that was expired? We are not talking a day or two, but months. GROSS! Whoever runs this store needs to be terminated, and may I suggest they terminate the staff as well.

SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- WNEM TV5 went out to ask the Tough Questions after a gas station clerk was robbed at gunpoint and then fired from his job.

The gas station owner said Spencer Weirauch, 20, had too much money in the register when the Admiral station in Saginaw Township was robbed.

And while Weirauch told TV5 that was true, his family is asking if his firing was justified.

Weirauch's father, Craig, said he was too embarrassed to go on camera but he said he can't believe his son is out of a job.

"Supposedly, he has a little bit more money in his till than he was supposed to and that was their reason for firing him, but I don't know, it's just sad all the way around," said Craig Weirauch.

TV5 went in search of the gas station's manager, named Marty, but he and current station employees refused to speak with TV5 reporter Liz Gelardi.

After the manager wouldn't talk, TV5 called the Admiral headquarters to see what their policy is, but no one got back with TV5.

"It's just unfathomable that a company would just push someone out the door for something that isn't even his fault," said Craig.

Weirauch said his son is still shaken from the robbery, and on top of that, he's upset because he'll have to find another place to work.

"Basically, he's the one that got robbed, too, because he lost a job over it; they robbed him [of] his job," said Craig.

It's not clear how much money was taken in the robbery or how much extra was in the register at the time.

I am a Cashier...not at Admiral, but another store. When that kinda thing happens its not the cashiers fault. They can't fix it. Its either something in the computer system or someone hit a wrong button. She might have had an attitude but so would I after dealing with rude ass customers and then that happens..You should have either asked for the manager...or how about this...Yellow Pages...you just wanted to whine, and I hate customers like you.

I was at the Admiral #124 on Davison rd. on 6/14/10. I used my debit card and was told to go inside to see the attendant. (Which happens everytime I go to that station.) The cashier was Joy and she was very rude! She said my card was declided.... I needed to contact my bank. Well, the funny thing about that is I'm the asst. branch manager at the credit union my card was from. I told her the funds where in my acct. She told me it is not her problem to contact the corp. office. She yelled at me and was very unprofessional. I ask if I could have a # to call. She gave me a fake #. I got gas down the road and my card was fine. P.S. That is where we will now get our gas.........

The station in S.S.Marie at 3 mile and Mackinac Tr is absolutely intolerable. Myself, along with MANY other people I know, avoid this station whenever possible. The ONLY reason I still went there was because they sell off road fuel which I use in my tractor. As of last night, I will never spend another penny in that place. Not only is the line up at the cash register absolutely ridiculous every time I go there (because only one till is open) but the employees are the most rude, inconsiderate people I have ever handed MY MONEY to. Whoever runs this company needs to give their employees some schooling on how to treat the public. Without us handing them OUR money, they wouldn't have a JOB. To Admiral I have one thing to say.....your business at that station would double IF your customers didn't have to spend 15 minutes in line waiting to pay for items and gas, and the employees had some training on how to be polite and considerate to customers. I will NEVER spend another penny at that place.....I'll pay the difference and buy "on road" fuel someplace else.

I am very upset with the Zeeland Mi facility! I go there almost daily, and so does the rest of my family. I put in an application there for work recently, the lady in charge told me there was one position, and she was looking at 2 candidates. Then she said she could hire 2 people after all but I had to wait. Then she said I had to wait longer, so I did.....then she called me for an interview and gave me the job. She told me to start on 07/21/09 at 2:30-10:30 pm. I went there at 2:25pm and she told me she did not need me, I was supposed to be there at 2pm. I think she is jerking me around, and dont appreciate it. She even said to me in the interview that she did not like the idea of working there herself but it's "just a job" right now and also told me her boss told her people were quitting there, to bring someone on board ASAP, and so she called me for the interview, maybe something changed and someone has decided to stay, and they don't know what to do with me now..... so this is an excuse she is using! I KNOW I heard her tell me to be there at 2:30pm and NOT 2PM! I NEEDED THIS JOB, and am outraged by getting the run around! My family, and myself WILL NOT be back to that facility EVER AGAIN because of this! They need better managers there! So far, I have noticed alot of them always coming and going, they cant keep people employed there long enough anyhow, so perhaps I am better off! Oh and I would like to add this manager also was badmouthing me to her staff in the public in front of customers there that know me! Not good, I may think about persuing an attorney!

The employees of Admiral Petroleum Company at 3 Mile Rd and Mackinaw Trail in Sault Ste. Marie, MI should be recognized for their resilience and tolerance. They work rotating shifts, make minimum wage, and receive no benefits. This Admiral does a brisk business on dial up. Long lines and wait times create irate customers, the brunt of which the management leaves to the shorthanded staff. Admiral is not alone. Badly managed corporate monopolies have become the new American icon dotting the landscape. These corporations leave the welfare of their employees to public assistance. Perhaps we should stop doing business with these corporate freeloaders and drive them out of town, which where most of the money goes anyway.

I would not go to this gas station ever again if I can help it. I just went there to fill up my tank. I was completely on empty, so it took $52.00 for my car. I thought I'm going to support the little guy, because all these other bigger gas stations keep coming up, and choking out the smaller ones. I went in to pay,
and started writing a check (from the same checking account that I have been for the past 2 years there) and she says have you written a check here before? I said yes for the past 2 years and never had a problem before. She says "Well we aren't supposed to take anything under 1000. I'm not gonna get reamed for this"(She said she's been there for 5 months.) So she called her boss. Her boss said she talked to me personally. (Which she did NOT. It must've been someone else that also had a check under 1000).I said "I've been doing it for 2 years." She says "Well someone got pulled in the office and got reamed for it." Apparently after 2 years of writing checks there they are now telling me I cannot do it. So I said no big deal I can write it from my other checking account, but that is for different purposes, but I can use that one this time. I wrote for 54 at first and had to change the 54 to a 52, and then I initialed it. And she says "oh my boss is gonna love that. I'm not supposed to take that either." So then she finally puts the check in and if you have been to Admiral you know how slow their machine is. She says "Jesus Christ. It's not reading the check. Now I'm gonna have to put the numbers in manually. But I'm not gonna do it." Then she had to see my license. I JUST came from Secretary of State to get it renewed.
And... you guessed it... "We're not supposed to take those." (temporary license was stapled to my old one). I said "Well if I get pulled over, a cop is going to ask for it and he'll take it" She says "We don't have the same rules." Then she was finally done with my transaction (by this time there is a very long line) and I said next time I will just use my debit card or write it from the checking account with the higher number, or go to Speedway. And then SHE told ME "Well you don't have to cop an attitude about it." I could not believe she actually said that after all she just put me through. I said I wasn't, and that she was the one that was taking the Lord's name in vain, and left. I will never go there again, if I can at all help it, unless it's under new management.

I would just like to know through which Oil company does Admiral get its gas? We have an Admiral Station in Tawas City and I use it often. Please attempt to answer me.

Please, If your going to leave a review for my store actually visit it. Brenda S. review is false. We do not have bullet proof glass. We have a large store with an open floor plan that is quite spacious. Its impossible to keep a Gas station as clean as a hospital, but the store is one of the cleaner gas stations you'll find. We do have a large selection of soft drinks, candy, snacks, & Tobacco. If you ever have any problems, complaints, or questions, Please contact me. (810)-715-9066 Jim Hoover-Store Manager

I stop at this store occasionally and they usually have one of the best prices on that side of town. The service is very friendly and the store is clean. They sell fresh brownies that are very good. The soda products tend to be a little warm, they could stand to turn the cooler down a little bit. The service is fast and friendly. Parking is a little crowded, but okay.

This station usually has some of the lowest prices in the area & I stop there a lot because it's down the street from my paint store.
Plus they sell funny things like novelty keychains and fudge you just don't see in other gas stations.
