Heritage Bakery is a GREAT place to go! Awesome cakes (yummy, creative and beautiful), wonderful quiches and cookies and breads etc. Do not listen to the few negative posts.\r

I was a loyal customer of Heritage Bakery, as I always try to support local, family-owned businesses. In the past few years I have ordered numerous large and expensive cakes from Heritage Bakery, for occasions such as 1st, 40th, and Sweet Sixteen birthday parties, baptisms, office parties and more. The employees have never been overly pleasant, but were never flat-out rude to me, either. Recently, I needed a small last-minute cake for an intimate birthday gathering. Knowing that Heritage has pre-made cakes available in their cooler; I called the bakery to inquire about the availability and variety of these pre-made cakes. Apparently, asking questions regarding flavor and size was very inconveniencing for the employees. First, while speaking to the male employee, his tone of voice indicated that I was annoying him by asking him to walk from behind the counter and look at the cakes available for purchase. He told me that there were two cakes available in the size for which I was looking. I inquired about the flavor of cake on one of the options, so he put me on hold, and came back with the answer. When I asked for the flavor of cake on the second option, he said in an annoyed tone, ??let me check? and came back with the answer. I said I would like to order one of the cakes, so he transferred me to a woman to write down my order. During the 10 seconds it took to transfer me, I changed my mind about which cake I wanted. When I told the woman that I had changed my mind, she dramatically exclaimed to someone in the background, ??now she??s changing her mind?! Then she yelled to someone in the background (assuming the same person), ??never mind about her, just deliver the cake?! Next, she said to me in a rude tone, ??Why don??t you just come in and look so you can pick one out yourself?. I said to her that if I wasn??t working, I would. She said, ??Well, someone has to pick it up, they can pick one out?. Then she rudely said to me, ??You??re just being so indecisive that you should just come in yourself?. I??m being so indecisive because I asked about the flavors of cake available for purchase, and changed my mind once prior to it being ordered? I told her, ??I order so many cakes here; never mind?, and hung up.

I called Sorella??s Bakery in Livonia and they were so friendly and pleasant. She asked how many people I wanted to feed, and took the phone to the cooler so she could tell me every variety she had available in the appropriate size. The cake was beautiful, and the taste was even more delicious than Heritage Bakery??s cakes. My family (who is used to Heritage Bakery cakes) raved about the flavor, and agreed that the cake was far superior to Heritage Bakery??s!

Apparently Heritage Bakery believes that they are so successful, they can afford to treat their customers rudely. Well, sorry Heritage Bakery, but you??re just not good enough to be acting so snobby. If they keep treating their customers this way, they will not have any customers left. Especially when people discover that a bakery just down the road offers friendly and courteous customer service, along with a superior product. Plain and simple, if I am putting money in someone??s pocket, I expect to be treated with a little courtesy and respect. I will never purchase another item from Heritage Bakery. I am, however, very glad that I discovered Sorella??s Bakery. They will definitely have all of my business and referrals from now on.

We recently moved into Livonia - Michigan, and we are so happy to find that a good old fashioned bakery still exists. Not only can you tell the moment you walk in the door (the smell is amazing), but their food really does all the speaking for itself. I usually get a dozen donuts for work, and we all LOVE them. The glazed are my favorite. And while some of our neighbors have told us they get cakes at Kroger or Costco, we've gotten our cakes from Heritage Bakery for our son's graduation, and our birthdays - and have been very pleased. (Better than our neighbors mega-store cakes). They truly have the name right - Heritage. Makes me think of good old fashioned baked goods. It's fresh, and you can tell it. And the folks that run the place are always so pleasant. When we had our nieces with us in the summer, we couldn't walk out of the place without them offering them a cookie (on the house). That's good people. I'm glad they are in business.

I have never been disappointed with Heritage bakery. Everything they make is delicious but you can't go wrong with their cakes. They are so charming and most importantly, they taste great.

If you like your cakes frosted with attitude, then I suggest you go here. Otherwise - STAY AWAY! I have never in my life been treated so rudely by ANY business owner in my life. I was shopping around for cake prices for my daughters birthday cake. I stopped in to see what Heritage had to offer - I wanted to put a picture of my daughter on the cake. I was told that my cake would be around $65, and that I would confirm the order when I stopped back in with the picture I was using. Well, turns out, $65 is quite expensive for a 3 year olds birthday cake, as the other bakeries in the area were priced from $20-$40. That being said, I never returned to finish and confirm my order. Fast forward to the day of her party: all our guests have gone home and I have a voicemail from Heritage asking if I was going to come pick up my cake - HUH?! I didn't call back to tell them they baked a mistake! Now, on the Wednesday after her party, I receive another phone call from whom I assume is the owner of the bakery. She proceeds to tell me that I am rude, avoiding her phone calls and she is disgusted that I ordered a cake and never picked it up. Needless to say, I lost it. What kind of business owner harasses potential customers?? I am embarrassed for this business. I would highly recommend Sorella's Bakery in Livonia - the cakes and treats are 100% drama free.

I ordered a cake for my son's 16th birthday - I wanted the cake to look like a drivers license. I gave the shop my son's information and a picture. The cake actually looked like a Michigan drivers license- picture and all - I always get my bake goods and cakes at the bakery - you will not be disappointed, good service, excellent taste and prices.

They have a fantastic selection of cakes to order, and also have cakes already made up for purchase. Very creative cake designs! The prices are reasonable, and the cakes are fresh.

I never knew this place was here! In fact, they have been here 25 years! I found this bakery on a Monday afternoon while driving around desperately searching for an open cake shoppe (Last minute birthday party).Everyone else was closed! I was greeted by a friendly and incredibly accommodating staff. I have been recommending this bakery to everyone. They offer so many baked goods, you won't believe your eyes. Or your tastebuds. Just great! They have a phenomenal cake artist who will make anything you request. I've never seen anything like it.A very comfortable, homey atmosphere.

PROS: the service is fantastic, delicious homemade food, they take last minute or
CONS: none so far
