.

July 23, 2008 . . . As an enormous used bookstore shopper (whenever, my husband and I travel, I look for used bookstores!). The Paperback Trade Inn was a delightful finding (located in Clawson, Michigan, approximately 1 mile west of the Oakland Mall, on 14th mile road). It was clean, spacious, and abundant (particularly for the romance lover!). The saleswoman, attending the bookstore on the afternoon of July 23, was polite, knowledgeable, but she DID NOT dominate my search time. She was available if I had a question, but she DID leave me alone, to search the shelves myself, and for that I thank her! If you are looking for Signet Regencies or Zebra Regencies, this is the place to hunt. Their Regency shelf is a least 60 feet long and overflowing. My, my, what a charming discovery!

Pros: Helpful salesperson!

Cons: They don't take credit cards.

The store recently moved to a larger location with better parking. The selection of books is astounding and the shelves are well-organized. The proprieter always remembers your name. You can set up an account to "bank" money books that you sell. They carry a small number of new paperbacks for which you can get a better trade-in price if you bring it back within a certain timeframe. For frequent customers, the owner will let you pre-order new paperbacks at a slight discount from the catalogs she gets from publishers

PROS: excellent selection; good parking; friendly salespeople
CONS:
