.

Actually, Camp Arbutus Hayo-Went-Ha is found on the shores of Lake Arbutus. It's brother camp, Camp Hayo-Went-Ha is on Torch Lake. This camp is not just a camp, it's home to the many young women who journey each summer up to these piney wood shores. Despite the fact that it may not live up to a 5 star hotel, the rustic nature is compelling on so many levels. Camp Arbutus has a positive and very unique atmosphere peppered with challenge-by-choice activities, positive comment zones, and perspectives from all over the world joining forces, making Camp undeniably the best place to learn about oneself. The challenging but rewarding wilderness trips out of camp teach teamwork, leadership, and survival skills that can't be found anywhere else. Being an all girls camp, Camp Arbutus gives girls a chance to grow into strong young women, sure of their importance in the world and their power to do anything. I recommend a summer at Arbutus very highly. It's not something one will ever forget.

Located on stunning Torch Lake, recognized by National Geographic as one of the world's most beautiful, the camp is blessed with an abundance of natural splendor. The almost constant cooling breeze ensures a comfortable climate and bug-free evenings. Outdoor amenities include a beach, swin area, and zipline. The cabins and shower areas are quite rustic, but are liveable enough. The mess hall (which lies some distance from the cabins) is clean and efficiently maintained; the cuisine isn't anything great but will suffice for hungry campers. The staff is friendly and helpful but not always easy to communicate with, as many hail from foreign lands. Overall, I found Hayo-Went-Ha to be an excellent provider of the classic camping experience.
