Forget fast food, this is authentic Mexican fare. The interior features wood tables, tile floors and a jukebox with Mexican love songs. The menu is full of favorites like stuffed peppers, thick tortas or sandwiches, or caldo de res, a Mexican stew. Tacos here are soft flour tortillas heaped with meat, cilantro, onions and salsa. For a treat, substitute steak or chicken with chorizo, grilled beef tripe or al pastor, a spicy pork.

Look Good - If you speak a little Spanish, don't be afraid to try it out on the waitresses. Most of them are fluent and enjoy chatting in their native tongue.

Authentic Mexican Food at a Great Price

This is a popular choice among my coworkers and family. Prices can't be beat and the food is absolutely delicious. They have a large menu, large parking lot, lots of seating, bilingual staff, nice decor. I love their shrimp fajitas, salads, tortas, and chicken enchiladas. The dessert menu is fairly small but you'll be full after the meal anyway. Check it out.

Authentic Mexican and Great!

Taqueria Me Pueblo is located on Dix, is easy to find and has parking. The staff here is excellent and so is the food!

Authentic Mexican - not that Taco Bell stuff! The menu is large and so are the portions, but the prices are low. Tacos, Burritos, Tamales, Birria (marinated beef soup), and Pozole (pork stew with hominy, cabbage, onion and lime - yummy), plus sandwiches and salads.

You don't have to go to Mexico for good food, just try Taqueria Mi Pueblo!

Great Authentic Mexican Food

The restaurant has been featured several times in the Detroit News and Free Press and always receives excellent reviews. The food is always fresh and service is fast. One of my favorite dishes is the taco dinner - 3 tacos, rice and beans for $4.50!!

Excellent food at an excellent price

The service is very uneven. I've had excellent service with a party of 30, and lousy service with a party of 2.

I've tried many, many things on the menu, and all are excellent. Be sure to try the carnitas. Even the beef tongue is good!!

Pros: Everything on the menu

Cons: Spotty service; spotty salsa

Mi Pueblo Fantastic Value.

This has been my favorite lunchtime place since they opened. I have been to most of the Mexicantown eateries since working in the area. Los Calones, Xocie's, Mexican Village can't compare with the food quality, value for your money (large portions). They just don't have a bar, no big deal to me. Now on their third expansion, it's still crowded. DPD is always there also so it must be good. Staff is friendly and they know the regulars by name.
