Salsa was runny and they don't believe in seasoning their beef. The steak fajita was cut too thick and was tough. They need to hire a real bartender that knows how to make a real drink. They don't have a bar but they do carry alcohol.

This restaurant has the most delicious Mexican food, my wife and I love the chips and salsa. They are always friendly and the food is great. Get there early because they can get pretty busy on the weekends.

I am shocked that people like this place. Their salsa is like swill mixed with water. DISGUSTING. I ordered a taco salad - pretty simple, right? Nope. The lettuce was brown, and the entire salad smelled spoiled. The whole thing had to be thrown out.

Luckily, by chance we found a Mexican place near Canton that was FABULOUS. We go to Los Amigos in Ypsilanti - takes us 10 minutes to drive there from our place in Canton. They have very good tamales and chile rellenos They also have coupons in ValPak, so keep an eye out.

Used to love this restaurant until they had the gall to charge us $10 for a side of guacamole. This was more than the price of our meal. I will not eat here again and I will make sure that everyone knows how much they charged us. You can get an avocado at any grocery store for about $1.

Whoever said this food is not authentic, must not be mexican! If so, they would know that mexican food comes in many different ways (it's a big country...is there only one type of american food???). This place must be from the north, because it has all the comfort cowboy cooking I love! Not to mention, the amount of food per entree is amazing! Spend the extra money to get "Hot Chips", and save by ordering one entree to split.

I have been raised on this stuff! My family has been going to the Mexican Fiesta since only the Dearborn location existed. Once the Canton location opened, we've been here ever since!
This food is, by far, the best Mexican food around. I don't get where these nay-sayers are coming from, questioning the authenticity of this food????
This food IS AUTHENTIC!! If you don't think so, YOU ARE WRONG!....and evidently, not Mexican!

I am Mexican and this is as good as it gets! For those of you that think Chi-Chi's style food is authentic....you are way wrong!

The tacos, enchiladas, burritos, tostadas, rice and beans are just like my grandmother and my mother make them!
The tacos are crispy and filled with the juciest meat (beef or chicken), topped with lettuce, cheese and salsa- well, you've got one absolutely delicious taco!
When I eat the rice and beans, I feel like I am in my Mother's kitchen. Both the rice and beans are so moist, not dry, and flavored with just the right amount of spices.
The best enchilada, in my opinion, is the cheese and onion enchilada...this should be their signature item!

If you haven't visited this restaurant yet...you are in for a treat- go ahead and treat yourself!
My family and I are such dedicated customers- we're like extended family!
To the Mexican Fiesta....we love you!

I am shocked that people loved this food. It is more of a Tex-Mex than anything else. The falvor is horrible and bland. Everything that was brough to our table was burned.. seriously.. It was the most horrible mexican food I had ever tasted. I would rather go to La Rositas on Mcgraw (far away!) then sepnd one thin dime on this horrible, horrible food... STAY AWAY

Cons: everything possible

My roommate and I went to this restaurant to try something new. Since the parking lot was packed, we expected it was going to be a great place to eat. However, their food a bit off from authentic. The "salsa" on the table was not salsa at all, but a sauce, and did not have authentic Mexican flavors to it. Also, I have never been to a Mexican restaurant where they served muenster cheese on anything, let alone chicken and cheese enchiladas. We were sadly disappointed by the lack of flavor and spice on the food. The service was great, but the food was far from impressive. We far prefer LaFuente in Ypsilanti, MI for more authentic (and delicious) food.

We have eaten at Mexican Fiesta II 3 or 4 times a month for years! The service is always good -- the same staff has been there forever so they really know what they're doing -- and the food is consistently, reliably VERY GOOD. The prices are very reasonable, and they make yummy Golden Margaritas, too.

TIP: Many of the menu items are listed as "threes": three tacos, three burritos, etc., but you can order 1 or 2 and they adjust the price accordingly.

I've heard that this place was good, so I tried it with my girlfriends this week. The chips were nice and hot and I liked the salsa, but the chips were way too greasy! They have large portions for entree's and the service was good, just not my favorite mexican place.

First there was Mexican Fiesta in Dearborn Heights... then I discovered Mexican Fiesta II in Canton. Although both offer the same grest Mexican food, the Canton take-off of the original is a more enjoyable restaurant for me. Mexican Fiesta II is a nice sized restaurant and the tables are pretty well staggered to allow for privacy. As for the food, the chips and salsa you start off with is always really good. They are one of the only restaurants that gives you two whole container of hot and mild salsas instead of just a bowl of salsa that runs out. I always order either bean and cheese Tostadas or Cheese Enchildas and both are excellent. We almost always have leftovers so we can eat it again the next day! The price is very reasonable and two of us can eat on 20$ plus tip. Although I like many Mexican Restaurant, Mexican Fiesta II is my go-to restaurant for reliable Mexican food! But go on the weekdays b/c it get's crowded on the weekends. Enjoy :)

PROS: Great food, nice restaurant, great price
CONS: Can get busy at times

I've been going to this resturant for at least 12 years. Let me tell you how to order your food if you don't want to pay for chips or if you don't want cole slaw. OK, Chips that are cold are free. If you want them warm, then there is a small charge. Some people don't like beans like myself, so they have an option. You have a choice of the 3. Or you can get double of whatever. So if you want rice and beans, just ask for rice and beans. If you want rice and cole slaw, ask for that. Or just double rice. Work it the way you would like it. My favorite order is the Chicken and Cheese Enchiladas. Wait staff is great. Complain if you would like about fries, but they are just being considerate by having that on the menu. Kids like fries.

If you're used to Mexican Town or Xochi's, you might find Mexican Fiesta isn't as authentic. But, we like the old Detroit favorites and still enjoy Mexican Fiesta very much. For one thing, it's a very convenient location for us and the food is very good. Sure they have french fries, etc., on the menu, but if you've ever tried to take your family of five somewhere where the kids can get their french fries while the adults get something other than fries...well...you appreciate those choices a lot! We're fans of both locations--the one near Telegraph and the one in Canton. And, when you walk into Canton and there's a line...don't give up...they manage to get people in pretty quickly.

I've eaten at both locations since I was a kid and it's the best Mexican you're finding in Detroit if you ask me. There's more mexican on their menu than he gives credit for, believe me! The botana is out of this world (and the size of that planet it's from), and everything else is great, too. Ignore that guy.

We've gone to this place a number of times, and we're always EXTREMELY pleased! This is one of our top two mexican restaurants... the other is New Mexico (a VERY authentic place... that has coleslaw and fries as side dishes, by the way). There are a TON of good MEXICAN choices on this menu. Try the super tostada, the botana, the special dinner, the deep fried flour tacos. Everything is delicious! Including the coleslaw!

Any Mexican restaurant that offers coleslaw and french fries with your order of burritos is NOT a Mexican restaurant. There were hamburgers, chicken entrees, and a million other 'all-american' fare to choose from, with the 'mexican' entrees only taking up 1/4 of the menu. Not what I expected with the misleading name... it should be called 'All-American Food (with a little bit of Mexican thrown in)'. Don't waste your time if you're looking for true mexican... head to Mexicantown instead.

This is a great place to take a family with kids. There is a large variety of mexican food, as well as burgers for the kids. Service is good, and they give you chips and salsa to munch on. Great family restaurant.
