Seeing the most recent review by "Anonymous" (from 3/4/07), I felt I really needed to write a review. Since that review, Dr. Bitar has remodeled, doubled the size of his office (still at the same location), and now there are two separate waiting areas for sick and well kids. I haven't yet seen a sign up to say which area is which, but our last visit was before cold & flu season, so that may have changed. They have brought one or two toys back into the waiting area, but these were originally taken away because of the chance of children infecting each other, so I make sure to bring small toys & crayons for my boys when we go.

As far as doctors go, I couldn't be happier with Dr. Bitar. He has always been gentle, kind, compassionate, takes his time to answer all questions during visits at the office, and over the phone. We have only seen the on-call doctor once in the almost 6 years my children have been patients. Otherwise, Dr. Bitar himself has always been available. Recently my oldest son has had some health issues which Dr. Bitar addressed the very same day, and promptly referred us to the appropriate specialists. When a test came back abnormal, Dr. Bitar called that very same night and in less than 2 days had us scheduled for a specialist about 2 weeks earlier than we could get an appt ourselves. Kathy in the office was also very instrumental in making sure we had all the information we needed, so we are so appreciative of her as well.

As for the rest of the office staff: I agree that they could be better, but I haven't had any real problems with them that I feel affects my children's level of care. Plus, I'm so happy with Dr. Bitar, that the staff is not enough of a reason for me to ever leave that office. My children, and my husband and I are VERY happy with him!

My girls and I really like Dr. Bitar, with the exception that he can be difficult to understand sometimes. He has always been very considerate of my concerns, always called me back right away (w/in a 1hr) and help me out during time of financial hardship while my kids were sick. The girls at the office did gossip among themselves quite often with the exception of one. (whom I really liked, but she too would be quite chatty) However 5 years later, I've been very disappointed in his office and him as a doctor altogether. I've decided to attend a different pediatrician. I think he has developed a very well know office and has very good client tell, however now on several different occasions I left a message with the receptionist (girls) for the doctor to call me and I never received a call back. I then paged him (because its after-hours now) and I NEVER received a call back. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. Besides the fact that when I took my kids for well-visits to Dr. Bitar, the waiting room is very small and has become over-populated. Parents sitting on top of each other with a majority of sick children in this small area. I don't particularly like my (well) kids getting sneezed upon by the majority of sick kids in this small waiting area. And vice-versa applies Iam sure to other mothers, when I was sitting there with my sick child and they brought in their (well) child.I do believe also that the waiting room could be more "kid friendly" as far as books, toys. etc., and the music that the girls listen to behind that desk (channel 95.5) I don't think is appropriate. I just think its time for Dr. Bitar to relocate to a bigger office, more kid friendly environment and not such a place of contamination where kids are coughing and sneezing upon each other. Also, may want to consider hiring some professional staff. I'm quite upset that my children and I had to relocate with a different doctor. My children still refer back to Dr. Bitar with any Doctor appts. they attend. Unfortunately, until something with Dr. Bitar changes, we won't be back.

my family absolutely adores dr. bitar. he is so caring, always available (even on nights and weekends) and he really listens to parents concerns. His office staff, however is less than terrific. i have found them to often be rude and inconsiderant, and i can't even begin to count the times they are wrapped up in personal phone conversations, or conversations between eachother. wonderful doctor, very unprofessional office/nursing staff. i've considered going elsewhere, but i just love the dr. so much, i can't do it!

Dr. Bitar is a very caring Doctor that is always on top of the most up to date studies, research etc. My son adores him. He has always taken my calls no matter the time or day, he always has back up when he is on a rare vacation.

His office staff is not the nicest or warmest, but if you can get past that, the rest is great!!

PROS: Great informed Doctor
CONS: Not the nicest or warmest office staff.
