I brought in a 1982 station wagon I would be turning over to my daughter for use in Wisconsin. I had several vague problems and basically asked them to go over it and make it safe. They told me what was needed right away and what could wait. They gave me options and associated trade-offs. I trust their opinions and integrity. It is a joy to find an auto-shop that tells me something is NOT needed when I had expected to pay for it.

We've been taking our vehicles to Lancer service for over a decade and I have to say that they are an outstanding garage. They value customer service more than any garage I've ever been to, and actually, more than most other types of businesses in general.
They take the time to thoroughly explain the suggested repairs and put it in language that you can understand. Their prices aren't the cheapest in town, but the value of their service and repair work is beyond words.
I highly recommend Lancer Service and am proud to be one of their customers.

I have a SAAB and they can be problematic but whenever I have an issue, they are able to figure it out.
There have been a couple of tricky issues that were not repeatable the first time, they suggested to wait until it could be repeated, they found it and fixed the problem.
They always treat me with great respect and give me the straight story.
Lancer service is a first class operation and I highly recommend them.

I never write reviews for companies but just had to for Lancer Service. I had an issue with my 1995 GMC truck in which it would not start. I called Lancer Service and they provided me a level of service that has been missing in the country for a long time. They helpfully walked me through a few steps in testing and then provided me the answer on how to easily fix it myself. What other auto shop would do that? The only reason I am giving Lancer a 5 star rating is because this site won't allow me to give more then 5 stars. Lancer Service sets a new bar in customer service that more companies should try to achieve!!

After reading the good reviews I was surprised, but Lancer overshot their estimate significantly, did not phone for authorization before hand, and surprised me with the huge bill when I went to get the car. They were defensive and unapologetic about it. Hopefully a fluke, but beware...

We were headed out on a camping trip and my motorcycle broke down almost right in front of Lancer. Jim just happened to be there on a Saturday and offered to let us store the bike there for the weekend so we could go on and enjoy our weekend. Come Monday, he not only had thrown the battery on a charger, but he'd done some poking around to see if he could possibly help repair. Then he went one better and called the shop where the Enfield was last serviced to get some specs to see if he couldn't fix the bike himself. Sadly, he got no help from them so he was unable to fix it but he went way above and way beyond in trying to help. Because of that, I will be taking my automobiles there for all their repairs from now on. They are very focused on customer service and are just nice, decent people. I highly recommend them!

Lancer Service has worked on a few cars that we have owned over the years and they always do an excellent job. They are great at communicating issues with a vehicle and actions that need to be performed to fix it. They always look for ways to save us money (e.g. communicate with extended warranty companies on our behalf; recalls and tech bulletins, etc). Recently I brought our Mini Cooper in for an thermostat issue. They fixed that as well as as a broken speaker and window regulator, and it cost us nothing more. This alone saved us hundreds of dollars.
I can't recommend them enough.

I used to be a service writer for a car dealership.
I can tell you they did a great job of explaining the work needed, the pro's and con's of how to approach the work and it was a very good experience.

These guys are superb! I was very impressed with the time they took to exxplain what they were fixing on my car. I did not ever feel unappreciated or rushed and my car came back to me happy too! I would recommend them to anyone.

This is the place to take your vehicle if you want honest work without all the added extras! Easy to talk to,and very fair! The guys will tell you what they are going to do so you know before hand what the problem is!Great wait time too!!Very easy location and they will treat you right!

i had left my car for servicing the engine and the service that they delivered was very good.i constantly had some kind fo trouble with the ignition. all that i did was i explained to these guys as to what was the trouble i kept encountering with and they took care of that.and after their service on my car, till date i havnt faced any trouble like i used to hav before with my car.

I was finally convinced to drive from Mpls to St. Paul for all our car's needs when I found Lancer Service. They are very helpful and do not try to sell you unnecessary parts - but do look out for your car's future and always advise you on what to look out for in the coming months/years. Lancer is top notch! When I called them the other day for an estimate, the service guy emailed it all to me (itemized) so I could see what everything was going to cost and compare to other quotes.

I brought my car into Lancer just for the convenience of the location and found it to be a wonderful experience. The experienced mechanics took the time to explain to me what was going on with my car (some heavy duty repairs) and were very knowledgeable. I have been back since and will continue to do so.

I would bring my car back to Lancer anytime! Everyone is very friendly, down to earth and professional. When I brought my car they let me know what was actually wrong with my car and not giving me false information like I have in the past from other shops in the area. Its also at a very convient location right downtown. My expierence felt like i brought my car to a trustworthy small town shop!

Lancer Service is by far the most exceptional automotive repair facility I have ever come across. Everything about Lancer is extraordinary in comparison to anyone else. They have a very professional, dedicated, experienced staff. Working with everyone there is a pleasure. Given my lack of mechanical aptitude, I greatly appreciate the time they spend with me during each and every visit. They are able to clearly explain what was done or what needs to be done (recommended) in comprehensible terms. This facility goes above and beyond in all that they do. Even when you bring your car in for a simple oil change, they thoroughly inspect the car. Whereas, other shops are more or less, get in, get out, goodbye! My experience is that Lancer really thrives itself on quality. However, they are still able to maintain competitive pricing with other places in the area.
I have been a dedicated customer now for over 10 years. During this time, I have had several different types of vehicles. Never once were they unable to flawlessly repair a vehicle of mine. I have recommended Lancer to several friends and family members; everyone who has brought their car in has the same feedback and would never even consider bringing their vehicle elsewhere.
If you are looking for a trustworthy, qualified automotive repair center, Lancer is the place to go! I highly recommend Lancer to all!

I went here because it was on the AAA site and near where I was staying, but it wasn't worth it. They tried to tell me I needed all sorts of work that was more than the car was worth. At least they agreed that the work may not be worth doing and let me go on my way with just a hoist fee. I brought in my car for a second opinion elsewhere and they were able to do the job for literally $6 for some fluids compared to $1500 to replace the power steering and misc. items. Any time the print out says "misc." labor that might not be good. Not worth the convenience of their location.
