As a new business investor, I was saddened and offended by the Plymouth, MN area agent for United Properties. When calling to inquire on lease space from 3200 sq ft. to 4500 sq ft., I found myself dismissed after a few minutes on the phone due to the fact that I am looking to open a business in the pet services area. I was told that UP is experiencing brisk rental business and they are not interested in my field. Unfortunately - the UP rep took no time to qualify me or my business - but rather made apparent assumptions and expressed no interest in working with me. He offered no other suggestions so I requested another contact who may be interested in my field. He referred me to Golden Valley or New Hope - which is not within my target area. I will be inquiring with other leasing agents or will more than likely buy commercially to open this business in the NW suburbs.

As a qualified and reputable business executive - I was saddened by this 3-4 minute conversation and wonder if this is representative of how United Properties treats potential customers and their leasing policies? Although I am certain many UP agents do not work in this manner, this gentleman would better serve new potential customers by asking questions as to their business potentail and intentions (and politely declining businesses that would not fit in his space if needed) and explaining why my business does fit within their space versus assuming a business does not fit in his space due to what I believe is his ignorance of this 60 billion dollar a year industry.
