Mke and I came here to go tubing last winter, it was crazy fun and we plan on going again this winter. I liek that they have the cord thing you so everytime you go down you don't have to walk back up. It is a really big hill. It was really funny trying to talk Mike into going skiingdown it.

Buck Hill Ski Area is a fun place to ski in Minnesota. It's larger than some of the other ones in the cities and they have a lot to do including tubing.

Very limited number of runs. Overlooks a major highway system. You can see all the runs from the chalet. They keep it well groomed. One of the runs was turned into a tube sledding park (extra charge). It's a good place for beginners, especially with the pricing, but for those who want to spend an entire day on the slopes or who are advanced skiiers, this place will bore you to death. I learned to ski at Buck, so don't get me wrong, it's just too small to make a day out of.

State of the art snowmaking equipment, a boarder park, half pipe, and tubing hill with huge bon fires create fun for all.
Ski racing here is second to none, whether youre a child on Bucks development team, a high school racer, or on the adult ski challenge Theres racing every day of the week. Walk threw the Main chalet and check out the photos of those who have been there, this is a whos who of skiings elite.
With the addition of the Buckstone Lodge overlooking the beginner area they have created a great place for apres ski enjoyment, a date, and non-skiers to hang out and enjoy the views. This is one of a few places you dont have to sit at a picnic table and eat cafeteria-style food. They have an excellent environment and wait staff to actually serve you great food and beverages.

Pros: short drives, Great food, fun times

Cons: it's not a mountain

Fun place to ski with decent variety of runs for this part of Minnesota - good for beginners with gentle bunny slopes but also has some challenging runs for more seasoned skiiers. Ski wee school for new little skiiers is great! Many more snow boarders than traditional skiiers. Also has mountain bike trails in the summer so good for year round entertainment.
