We've been to Petclips many times. The owner and employees have ALWAYS been nice. My dog, "Bear," actually likes going there! The previous reviewer complained because the owner's pets are allowed to roam. I think it's very nice that

I too, will not be back. The place is filthy with piles of dirty, cut, dog hair everywhere. When I picked up my "groomed" dog, she was covered with old dog hair that she picked up just coming from the kennel to the front.

We have been customers of Pet Clips for well over 10 years. Over the years we have had four small dogs to bring to them and would not go anywhere else - even driving from the other side of St. Paul! Over the summer we lost our 17 year old poodle and when I told Katy about it, she cried along with me. Katy and her crew do a wonderful job and are very accommodating. They work hard and often times work past their time of close in order to accommodate customers at the last minute. The grooming is great! We won't go anywhere else. Thanks Pet Clips!!!! (Nellie, Oprah, Winnie and RBI thank you too!)

I took my dog here for about a year, during which time I had several problems with them, most of which I tried to brush off. First, they overbook themselves and take FOREVER! I normally would drop my dog off at around 8-9am. He's a Bichon whom I keep reasonably well brushed, so I wouldn't think it would take more than an hour or two. But I don't think I ever heard back from them until after 4pm, even when I asked if they could have him done earlier (I actually had to call and ask where he was sometimes when they said he'd be done by 2 and I still hadn't heard a thing at 3:00). On top of that, the poor dogs are locked in crates all day... and they don't take them out for potty breaks or anything.

The one and only time my pooch did have a few more knots than usual, the woman at the front desk said it would be fine and she'd be able to brush them out. I ended up calling at 5:45 (fifteen minutes before they closed!) to see what on earth was taking so long. I got the owner/manager on the phone, who proceeded to yell at me for twenty minutes about taking such horrible care of my dog. Apparently, not only did she want to charge me extra for making one of her associates stay late (he ended up not being done until 6:30!), but I bathed him incorrectly (he'd been swimming in a lake and all I'd done was shampoo him and brush him out), didn't brush him enough, and was in general inept. Her solution: I should bring him in every two weeks for a shampoo and brush out....!?!?!

Needless to say, she lost me as a customer for good.
I've since tried several other places in the area. Not only has he gotten cuts that are just as good, but the proprietors have been very nice, and it's taken less than 2 hours. Not to mention the fact that they are in general much less expensive!

After being a loyal customer for over a year, our last visit to Pet Clips changed our opinion forever. The owner's daughter who was clipping our dog decided to shave our dog under her tail which caused razor burn under her tail. This razor burn caused severe irritation. Which in turn resulted in an infection, our dog's lack of appetite, depression, and discoloration of her fur. We incurred subsequent vet bills as a direct result of Pet Clips negligence. We were not advised that they may need to shave our dog or that in fact they did shave her when we picked her up. We only discovered this after we brought our dog home. We immediately called to talk to the owner (she did not return that phone call). We followed up with a second call and a letter to express our dissatisfaction. Pet Clips response was simply that they could not do anything for us. They gave no sympathy, no compassion, and no accommodation, They simply said this may happen when they shave an area. However, they never explained this to us prior to shaving they simply made the decision (because it was easier for them to shave it rather than clip the area) on their own and then offered no remediation. We will never go back and would not recommend them to anyone but in fact would discourage anyone from using Pet Clips.

Cons: They Don't Care!

I have been taking all of my pets (2 lhasas and a Himalayan Cat) to Katie & Co. since we moved back to Minneapolis in 2000. I would never even think to take them any where else! From the very first time they were groomed I knew everyone here cared about the animals, did excellent grooming but not only that worked really hard all day long.
I only have one of the 3 pets left and she will be 15 soon, I know that she is treated with extra care since she is in her senior years. I want to give a big THANK YOU for the quality grooming and treatment you have given Do-g, Nala & Tolkien over the years.

After 10 years as a customer at the Edina Pet Clips, today changed my mind. Our big, furry dog was long overdue for grooming. She went in this morning, but, this afternoon at work I received a call she had been cut on the neck during grooming and needed vet care with stiches and medication. I asked Pet Clip's policy on this and was told I would be responsible for the vet bill since her hair on her neck was matted and hard to cut so this was the cause of her injury. Also, I was charged for the brush-out that was started. She was not bathed because of the injury. I ended up paying for the half-brush-out, but not the vet bill. Later I called the owner who basically told me my dog was too much work and put her at risk of losing money due to being matted and maybe getting injured. I never received an apology from anyone. I guess the $5,000 or more I've spent on grooming in the past 10 years doesn't count for anything. I was told if I do not pay the vet bill I am not allowed to bring my dog back. Then, pretty much I heard the dog is too much work anyway and the owner doesn't want anyone there to have to bother with her. Nice service. I will miss Jeff a lot, very nice, kind person who has groomed there for years. I guess this is my personal experience and I just wanted to share it because, well, I guess it feels good to vent when you feel you have not been respected for what you have contributed to a business owner.

I have been going to pet clips with my Cocker/Cavalier mix for about a year and they have done a great job every single time that I have taken her there. They are caring and professional. Also they are consistent with the quality of the cut. This groomers was recommended by a neighbor witha golden retriever and I have been very happy with the referral. Before I brought my dog here I had two bad experiences with groomers, and so far this place is the best. I would recommend this groomer to anyone.

I had been bringing my dog in for nearly two years to Pet Clips. The last time I brought him in for a grooming, I had a terrible experience. The groomer had nicked my dog (this is the first time it had ever happened). When I picked up my dog, the person who did it had already left for the day and furthermore didn't inform me of this, or even personally apologize. AFTER I paid for the grooming, a different groomer explained that my dog was bleeding on his hind leg and "just wanted to let me know" and that "sometimes this happens". I was very upset at the way the ordeal was handled and called the manager the next day to explain my disappointment and concern. She said the best she could offer for condolence was $5 off my next grooming. Needless to say, I will not be back there again and do not recommend Pet Clips.

Today I went in (after reading the reviews on here) to get my cats long hair shaved for the first time. When I walked in I was appalled by the stench and huge piles of hair EVERYWHERE on the floor. Being a first time customer I expected that either they would ask me what I wanted to have done or otherwise gave me some options as far as what other people normally have done, neither of which happened. I came back to pick up my cat and her hair was not only shaved to her skin but she looked terrified and had acquired the putrid smell of the business in what little fur she had left (which was cut unevenly.) I also noticed that the man who was ringing me up had dried b lo od on one of his fingers!

Needless to say I will never be going back there or furthermore getting my cat's hair trimmed as a result of this terrible experience.

By far the best Pet Clips in the cities! Great staff! Very caring and eager to please. They will take good care of your pets without nicking or causing any distress. Your pet leaves there, not only smelling wonderful, but happy! There is a price for good service, though.

We've used a few different groomers for our sometimes poorly-behaved Keeshond. Pet Clips is by far the best. They handle him well behavior-wise and he always looks great without stinking like dog perfume. Other groomers either have been unable to handle him (call us because he's barking, can't get his nails trimmed, etc.) or have drenched him in stinky perfume.

So far, of the several different dog grooming shops in Edina, Bloomington or Richfield that I've tried for my golden retriever, this is the best one. My neighbor recommended it to me for the same reason. He has a labradoodle. So you have two happy dog owners in Edina that would highly recommend PetClips. They don't seem confused about your directions for the trim, they happily fix any things you want changed, and have a good attiltude toward the dogs and their owners.
