Luther Westside is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure working with.

I bought a 2012 Routan and 3 days after I noticed the CD player was not functioning correctly. I returned to the dealership to have it examined and they also found the CD player to be defective. They replaced the CD player with the same model and the exact same problem was happening. At this point, they started ignoring me. My calls were ignored and even an extra visit to speak with a manager was a waste of time. I was promised a phone call the next day with a solution, never heard back.

Turns out, ALL of the CD players of that model are defective. (they cut out the beginning of tracks) Luther Westside was ignoring me because they didnt want to admit they were all garbage. I visited Burnsville Luther and they ALSO found it to be defective. I filed a complaint with VW of America and after they sent a case manager to investigate, Westside Luther told them that is was MY fault because I was listening to illegally burned CDs. THAT IS A LIE! The service advisor and the mechanic BOTH watched me use legal CDs (which I purchased off Amazon) to demonstrate the defect. After they told VW of America those lies, I was branded as a liar trying to take advantage of them.

So after 2 VW dealerships found it to be defective, they STILL would not replace the CD player they sold me. After 6 MONTHS of arguing with this terrible company, I had no choice but to file a lawsuit.

STAY AWAY FROM LUTHER WESTSIDE! TERRIBLE COMPANY!!!

Mike (shop manager?) threatened to hit me and my fianc in front of customers, staff and the sales manager. Stood face to face with him and he wanted to "bring it on". Can you believe it?

We tried to get help from the Sales Manager, felt sorry for the guy. He just stood there and didn't know what to say.

Waited 3 hours to get an oil change and service decided we should've "made an appointment" for their "Express Service". So we didn't get the oil change or the blower fan looked at.

This has been a LONG process of trying to get my moonroof fixed and a blower fan fixed that's been "whistling" for 3 1/2 years I've owned the car. Now (after warranty, of course) the blower fan is starting to make those "going out" noises. Maybe a bad bearing? When we use the moonroof you'd swear that someone was shaking the whole roof off. They all admit there's a problem, but....

Like the old saying "just don't get sick". Well at Luther Westside Volkswagen - "just don't ask to get things fixed more than once".

Our experience was very good. Helton was helpful, thoughtful and listened to our needs in looking for a used car within our budget that worked for our family. The only drawback was how long it took to meet with the purchasing manager because of how busy it was that day.

I am always very impressed with the service and the team at Luther Westside Volkswagen. This last time I worked with Rhienhardt and Justin in service, they were both extremely helpful and made my visit a pleasure. It is always an inconvience when you need to bring in your car, but they make it almost a pleasure. I also appreciate all the communication I receive from e-mails and the methods of follow up.

I have been a VW owner for 30 years. I have owned additional other cars for work over the years, but nothing compares to the quality of a VW, including the body design, the interior design, & the engine. The customer service & the sales people at Westside are ALWAYS on the ball & attentive to my needs.

I purchased a vehicle from West Side 3 years ago and was lied to about the promises made with the purchase. They promise a full tank, discount gas & in this case free washes and oil changes for life. When I picked up the car they had to take it back to fill it up only at my request. The discount gas card and other discount service coupons were never provided & the oil changes / car washes were ignored. When I called to complain, that sales person was no longer with the company and they would no honor what he promised even though it was in writing.

Recently, I brought the car in for warranty service and told them that the CV joints were clicking. To my disappointment, they only replaced the BOOTS and told me that the joints were fine even though you could hear the clicking around corners with all doors and windows closed. The deductible was $100. When I drove the car off the lot, it was still clicking. I brought it home thinking that perhaps the new grease would fix it, but it did not. i returned the car to them and told them that they needed to fix it because I had told them what the issue was the first time. Their tech drove the car and told me that he couldn't hear any clicking. I told him that the clicking is there and they need to drive it again. The second technician then said it had a bad joint. They refused to fix it again without me paying the deductible. I will never return. This review is being posted on any site I can find. It isn't the $100 that bothers me, it's the lack of respect for customers, lack of integrity & lack of honesty that bothers me most.

Sold me a lemon that they said all problems fixed. Not so in the least. Car used 2 qts of oil in a month, bad shocks (which they said were checked and fine) brakes squeak etc. Walking on the lot no one greeted me for a quite awhile. Took me for a test drive of several cars and acted like I wasn't a buyer. "Boy" was sales person surprised when I called HIM to buy it. I guess they don't think women actually buy their own cars or something!

They offered to buyback my lemon but hid lower priced models from me and tried to sell me a car $7000 more than my lemon. Than a week later they actually had a car more in my budget and told me to hurry on in to look at it cuz it just got off the truck tonight. I looked up the Internet price and they tried to sell it to me for $1300 more than the listed price. What a surprise when carfax showed they bought it 3 weeks ago. Wow weren't they doing me a favor. I was stuck between a rock and a hard place since I had to buy a car from them or they wouldn't give me my money back for the bad car. The manager actually had the nerve to tell me he'd been more than fair with me. I would hate to see what his opinion of unfair would be!

Please don't ever go to this dealership. This had been my 3rd car from them and they treated me so poorly and unfair I will NEVER step a foot on their lot again. Also VWs very unreliable cars. If you buy one make friends with your service advisor. I know my advisors phone # by heart.

Pros: Nice building

Cons: inferior cars, poor service, bad biz practices

I bought a Passat from there in March and since then I have been back several times for repairs and an oil change. I have found that bringing in your vehicle during the day side is much better than in the evening. The day side staff is always friendly in services that is and the night time seems to take their sweet time to get your vehicle in and out.... I spent two hours waiting on an oil change, two hours and they didn't even run my car through the car wash as they said they would.

They buying experience was not bad, but I had to call and come in to pick up my plates three days after my yellow tag expired because they forgot to call me...by reading the reviews I can see that I am not the only one that this has happened to. I also did not have an owner's manual and my car only came with one key and a valet key...... I had to wait over two months to get the owner's manual and they said there is no way for them to get me another key, if I want one I will have to pay for it....

I recommend that if you want a VW, don't buy it here, they have absolutly no sense of urgency. I love my car, just wish I would have bought it else where.

This dealership is absolutely terrible. They will do nothing to accommodate you. They will forget to send you the tabs for your car. If you lease a car and wish to purchase it later they will try to harass you into selling it back and leasing again. Basically, they will do what is convenient and cost effective for themselves without any regard for the customer. In fact, when I finally was allow to purchase my Passat, they did not record the sale and then because it was not recorded as a sale, threatened to damage my credit rating if I did not fix their error. Absolutely ludicrous.

Please, please, please - do not bring your car to Westside VW!! Not only do they make you feel stupid for asking questions about the repair work done on your car, but they are also scam artists. The last 3 times I've brought my car in for repairs, the check engine light mysteriously appears a day or two after the work is complete, and I have to spend another $200-300 to repair whatever it is they've clearly broken. Their service staff is rude and demeaning, their repair work is shoddy, and their prices are outrageous. My experience with Westside VW has been horrible, and I'm ashamed it has taken me this long to take my business elsewhere. Don't fall into the same trap I did. Shame on you, Westside VW.

I bought a used vehicle from this dealer. Something I will never do again. After taking the car to a third party mechanic. He found multiple issues with the vehicle, they told me that what he found wasn't really there but then they agreed to fix the issues that they had just told me were fictional after I threatened to walk. They assured me that if anything was not right with the car after I purchased it that I would have a period of warranty. I had to take the vehicle in four times within the 30 day period in order to get the wheels properly aligned. They blamed it on a broken alignment machine on my fourth visit. I was told that the breaks were new by the salesman, that was just a couple months ago and now I found out that I need all new brake pads and rotors. During one of my visits to the service department. I had asked for the alignment readout because I wanted to see the numbers myself . The numbers proved that the car was still out of alignment and it even said that if numbers were in the red the car shouldn't be driven and and the service consultants were doing everything they could to assure me that it was fine and pushed me out the door saying that the warranty repair guys were gone for the day and I would have to make another appointment.

.

They will sell you the car, send you "valued customer trade-in" come-ons endlessly. Nice, brand new building (they must make decent profits) and work seems like it's well done. But that's on the surface. I had incomplete work done that led to excessive and accelerate wear. This all finally came to the surface during a routine maintenance service stop when lo and behold, I had to get new brakes after only 30000 miles. Not surprisingly, these were the exact same brakes that had the warranty work done on them.

When I tried to explain this correlation, I got nothing but excuses from the "excuse bag" which tries to take advantage of the customer's incomplete mechanical knowledge. But when the customer service manager tried to tell me that it's normal for the wheels to be hot after driving on the highway for 1-2hrs, I knew he was throwing nonsense my way.

More and more companies are not taking responsibility for incompetence and inadequate service work. And so it will be, my new vehicle will be a VW from another dealership or, more likely, another brand.

I took my car (VW Jetta) here because the check engine light came on. The customer service person called me to tell me I needed to replace the catalytic converter at a cost of $1100, but could not tell me what the cat. converter does or why I needed a new one. I think a business that is asking for that much money should be able to explain the part to you! The person I worked with was not able to answer the questions I asked. I ended up taking my car to Como Imports, which was recommended by a friend, and I would highly recommend them as well.
