My family has been going to JPT for 20 plus years and have never had any issues dealing with Curt and Pat. They have been caring and understanding when it comes to our urgent automotive needs, and we have had numerous! They are the best price in town, I feel they are very honest and won't try to fix something that isn't broken! I recommend them to anyone, but I always have to tell them they are 2 very busy guys, and pretty much they are 'running the show' themselves. Curt and Pat, you need a secretary! Thank you so much for all you have done for us through the years! Believe me you have been a life saver so many times!

over the last nine years i have not needed any car repairs because we had four new vehicles during that time, however i had been taking my repairs to curt and pat for at least 15 YEARS PRIOR TO THAT and was very pleased with their work, then a few weeks ago, i took my truck to the dealer for a simple oil change, the service manager told me that i needed to replace the brake pads on rear, that they were worn dangerouslly low. only$ 209.00 that made me think of curt &pat, surely they could do it for less, quick call, got a quote. much less from curt, dropped the truck off at jpt. few hours later pat calls me and says truck is ready, he says no charge , he took rear wheels off to find 60%pad left,he advised i leave them on and check back in spring,I was very pleased to say the least, you can guess where my non warranty work will be performed in the future, these gentlemen are real class, thanks guys see you soon. den

I have been going to Pat for 32 years. Ever since I got my license. He is THE BEST, MOST HONEST mechanic you will ever find. My entire family goes to him - Dad, Step-mom, Step-siblings, Sister, neighbors, and many others we have referred over the years. Whomever that anonymous person that wrote a negative comment is, was either a wack-a-doodle, or they had the wrong page to write a review on. There have been times when Pat came to the house and worked for hours in frigid, below 0 temps to get my car started. They have borrowed me a vehicle when mine was out, and have given me rides home many times. I would never go anywhere else. I now have them look over any cars that I buy also. I don't know Curt as well, but the contact I have had with him over the years has been some of the best service a person could get also. Very courteous and they will not do work that doesn't need to be done. Their prices and service are the best to be found!!

Probably 8 years ago now, we were told we needed new ball joints for our Minivan. We got estimates ranging from 1100$ and up from a variety of places. JPT was the one outlier in the phone estimates coming in at around half that cost. We took it to them to perform the work. Came in to pick up the van with a very tired checkbook in hand and learned that they didn't think the ball joints needed to be replaced, they did a minor adjustment at no cost and called it good. I guarantee you that at any of the other locations, we would have been driving on new ball joints and out $1000+ unnecessarily. The van drove for another 70K miles on those ball joints before we sold it.

Kurt and Pat are beyond world class!! My wife and I have been taking our cars to JPT for the past 5 years and we couldn't be happier with their quick and friendly service (and especially their prices!!!) My first repair was less than half the estimated price from another shop. I've always gotten estimates on needed work, Maybe Anonymous customer E wrote the bad review because she didn't like waiting the 4 or 5 days for an appointment and was hoping to discourage potential customers. If more folks knew about JPT it would be 2 to 3 weeks to get your car in! I only wish I'd have found JPT years (and thousands of dollars) ago!

I have had 5 cars serviced by JPT. As soon as the warranty expires I go to JPT. They are the fairest and best mechanics that I have dealt with over the last 15 years. The have never done anything expensive without authorization. The negative comments by the one person's very long review are totally out of sync with what I know.

The only thing I can figure out is Anonymous customer E doesn't like the wait to get her car in for service because these guys are so busy by doing great work and a better than normal price!
I will never take my cars anywhere else.

Like many of the posters, I have been giving my business to JPT for 10 years (and have not once had any issue. Like the previous poster, I too am I woman and an educated consumer. I have never felt that Curt and Pat have taken advantage of me in any way and furthermore, I feel overly confident when I refer my friends and family (including my mother, my sister, my aunt and my best friend) to have their service performed at JPT. Pat and Curt are always welcoming and very kind and caring. They run their business with honesty and integrity.

I originally heard of JPT years ago, as they were featured on Kare11 as a great car service place. I brought my car there and was impressed - great pricing and great service. Therefore, I became a loyal customer until they started taking advantage of me. I would bring my cars in for anything they needed done. First, I would ask for a quote before they did the work - and they always took the liberty to do the work, and then tell me what I owed them. I am a woman, and don't know if that's why they jerked me around so much, but I am an educated consumer - so fought them every time they did this. Who does car work without first getting approval from a client, or for even telling the client what is wrong with the car. They did this A LOT, despite my request and frequent calls, asking them not to do any work until they first told me a) what was wrong and b) how much it would cost me. Next, I brought my car in after it broke down on the road - had it assessed at the nearest dealership - so I knew exactly what was wrong with it. I had that dealership do the minimum - new battery - to get it to run, so that I could drive it to JPT to do the rest of the work. The car drove fine getting there, with no noise. When I picked it up from JPT it was screeching like crazy. We immediately went back and asked them to correct whatever they had done. They fixed the issue and then tried to charge me for fixing it. I refused - as they created the noise. Then they told me what they had fixed was fine in the first place - did not need to be fixed (b/c I argued that they must have ruined the part that was causing the screech). They placed the old part back on, the screeching went down - but remained. They then claimed they could not hear any screeching. I have driven the car since, under their comments that it is working fine, but with an embarrassing screech that they caused but would not fix. Lastly, most recently, I brought in 2 cars that I sold this year - for both I had simple maintenance work done - identical cars - identical work. When I asked for a quote for the 2nd car which was done months later, I reminded them I had the same work done on a same make car months before and was told it would cost me the same to do the same work. I called the same week of to confirm this - and was told yes it would cost the same, possible $50 less even. When I went to pick up the car, they were charging me $100 more than the last time. I argued with them regarding their verbal phone quotes with me, and they knocked the price down to about $10 more than the last time. Bottom line - they do what they can do get your business, but once you're in, they will take advantage of you when they can. After these constant negative experiences, I will take my business elsewhere. The sad thing is they made thousands off of my over the years, and that wasn't enough for them.

My family lives in Brooklyn Center and admittedly occasionally goes to Goodyear for an oil change or tires, only to find out we need this and that.

A few years ago, my dad found JPT and car repairs haven't seen the same since. Every time Goodyear/Firestone gave us a "quote" for a repair, we were on the phone with JPT to make an appointment. I can't tell you how much of a headache Curt, Pat and their other mechanics have saved us - on more than one occasion, they've found the franchise repair shops are simply lying or are WAY too overpriced. Let's take today for example:

I brought my car to Firestone because my brakes were losing pressure and the brake light had finally come on. Aside from scheduling faults on my end, JPT quoted HALF the Firestone 990 dollars and did the repair same day. Is it because we've been going there for years? It's possible. Either way, I'm removing Goodyear from my call list and will only be going to JPT from now on.

They deserve all the praise they get, and more!

Not the fanciest shop, but Pat & Curt are the best! I won't let anyone else touch our cars. Honest, trustworthy and friendly! The stories of great service are endless.

We have know these guys for close to 40 years and they have been keeping our vehicles in top shape since they started in their garage at home. They do excellent work and they are very reasonable priced. They will tell you just what needs to be done before doing it and give you a price. They are very honest and you don't have to worry about being cheated.

Curt always remembers my name whenever I come it. It usually takes about 3 weeks to get in for a routine service (e.g. oil change), but whenever I have an emergency, they can get my car done that day or the next. They always do a good job and at a VERY reasonable price. Even when I got a quote for repairs at a Tires Plus store when I purchased tires there, I took my car back to JPT and had them look at the things that Tires Plus said had to be done right away. Curt at JPT said that he looked at my car himself and none of the required auto services that Tires Plus said that had to be done, needed to be done. I trust these guys at JPT. We have been going there ever since we moved to Minneapolis=12 years.

My family lived in Brooklyn Center, right near JPT services for over 20 years. When we eventually moved 20 miles away, our mechanic didn't change. We tried a few others that were closer, but sooner or later you get ripped off. Curt and his crew are nothing but trustworthy. There are usually so many cars in the lot waiting to be worked on that they don't have time to fix something that doesn't need fixing.

I have to drive a little further to go to JPT but I am never sorry when I do. JPT is the classic neighborhood garage where quality service is given with a smile at very reasonable rates. Curt and the fine team at JPT get the work done right and always strive to find the solutions that make the most economic sense for the owner and the vehicle they are working on. In our family we have a relatively new vehicle and a truck we are limping into old age. Curt understands the relative difference between these vehicles and seems to share my pain if a part costs to much for the old truck. If I can fault anything with JPT, it is that the secret is out and they are typically so busy that they can't always process a major repair through in a day or two as they wish - although this is often due to availability of parts. Put succinctly, I know I can trust my vehicle work and our safety to the guys at JPT and recommend them whole-heartily.Alan P.Maple Grove

The mechanics and owners at JPT Services are realistic. They don't sell you services and repairs that you don't need! Their prices are reasonable and they stand by their repairs. We have been going there for years with NO regrets. All of the people that we have recommended JPT to stick with them as well and are completely satisfied - can't beat that!

PROS: Reasonable Prices, No unnecessary repairs or services, Friendly people
CONS: It may take up to two weeks for scheduling but do take in emergencies
